Howdy folks!
Am currently having trouble deciding inbetween the to two options.
Exact scopes being compared are:
Nikon Prostaff 4-12x40mm with BDC reticle ~ $260
Burris Fullfield II 4-14x42mm with Ballistic Plex reticle ~ $440
The rifle it will reside atop with be a Norinco M-14 (Troy chassis, muzzle brake) if that helps anyones opinion. Once I finally free up some more cash for some quality glass it will be put on a Savage 111 30-06.
I have a couple other Nikon Prostaff 150 BDCs mounted on mine and my fathers Savage 17 HMRs and I am pretty impressed with the quality of the glass for the price. The plastic turret caps are kind of a turn-off but the rest seems rugged enough for their use. I have an old Burris Short Mag 3-9x32mm mounted on my M-14 right now and don't like it very much. I find the eye box is super touchy to get into at times and causes tons of eye strain to see clearly through. Also with the smaller objective there is less light transmission.
Have never had a chance to look through any other Burris Optics, but have heard many rave reviews about how great they are for such a great price point.
Everyones opinions are much appreciated!
Thanks!
Bill
