Hey everyone I'm looking at purchasing the mtac for my AR. I shoot moderately and want something I can snipe at 100-300 yards for the range! Is it worth the purchase or do I save up a little more and get something better? What do you think, I can't afford a scope more then 500 at this time so if you have any other suggestions I would love to hear... Thx

I was game to get one as well, I looked through it at the store and didn't like the reticle. When it is not lit up it covers up a lot of your target. I would have a look through it before you purchase. Other than that it seemed like a nice unit, they are a hell of a lot cheaper in the states, which pisses me off as well.

Thanks for the input tho. Quality wise, are they decent?
Quality wise do they make a good scope, one that is reliable?

I was thinking about one and the fellow I talked to at optics planet said they could ship one up. There was a bit of paperwork to fill out but no extra charge for it. Much cheaper from them than any I could find in canada.

It looked good, but without trying it I am unsure, I have an old Burris 3X9 that has been through hell and back but it was not made in China.

Fantastic quality on my MTAC 1-4.

Reticule is great for 3-gun.

For "sniping"? I don't know. I've never "sniped".

Hard to get a big improvement in optical quality until you're in the $1500-2000 range with the likes of the Leupold Mk6.

Are you a fan of the Burris line of scopes?

I can say I am. My XTR 1-4x that I sold has been missed ever since. Incredible reticle and very nice glass. I had a MTAC do awhile and also was a very well built unit with clear glass, the reticle in that model just wasn't to my liking. Burris is an excellent choice in "AR" 1-4 optics. Much nicer than say a Viper Pst, but that's not saying to much as a Hi Lux CMR for far less money is nicer than those.
