Burris Rings, Signature Line QUESTION

Hey Guys;

I picked up 2 Stevens 200 rifles and the darn things are so popular that the only MEDIUM HEIGHT rings I have been able to find are the Burris Signature rings, the ones with the PLASTIC inserts to "cushion" the scope...

Can anyone provide me with an opinion as to how good these are with the plastic inserts? I'm old school in the sense that I want steel, I see the plastic as inferior...

I've been told that they are expecting more in anytime... Ya right... That's like trying to get stuff from Walmart, it's either there or it's NOT... Buy it when you see it...

I think I am going to get stuck buying the plastic insert rings. Oh ya, I also tried reading about them on burrisoptics.com their hompage, but it won't open or is down for some reason...

P.S. I've looked for/considered Weaver grand slam, Leupold, Burris... I also don't want to mix and match brands between the rings and bases.

Those are good rings and many prefer them over the all steel. They are not inferior.

Thanks Grizzlypeg, I just got back from Lebarons and I bought the Burris Signature rings with the insert. First time trying these...

I use them on my 700 in 300 RUM and they are top of the line. The inserts will stop bite marks on the scope and in the long run be easier on your scope.
Also the dove-tail lock up of ring to base is a great system, recoil will keep them tight.

The burris signature plastic jobbies are my go-to rings. Excellent for perfect alignment, no lapping, and massive surface area in contact with the scope body.
