Hi guys,

I am trying to get my half awake mind wrapped around the off-center inserts for the Burris signature rings and I am having a brain fart. Which way do you put the inserts in (raise the front or raise the back of the scope) to get the most use out of the turret adjustments? I probably know the answer, but my poor muddeld mind cannot wrap around this tonight :) .

Thanks,

Corey

You put the higher or thicker insert on the bottom of the rear ring to to raise the muzzel to sight in further. The thicker insert would go in the bottom of the front ring to do the opposite. The real point of these offset inserts is to solve an elevation or windage problem usually associated to your base or bases being drilled off center for windage or to get additional sighting in distance that is limited by the internal adjustment of your scope. We don't normaly use the offset inserts unless we are trying to address these problems. Sometimes during bore sighting we can center the recticle on the bore sighter but have to use almost all of the available internal adjustment to accomplish this. This would not be fair to send out a customer to do actual sighting in under these circumstances as he/she would run up against the internal limits usualy before zero was achived. Also windage adjustment bases and shiming between the receiver and the base will do the same thing. Sorry if this info seems sort of basic but we find many customers who have never thought this through..call me et the shop by phone if I have confused you...Phil (780)420-6419
