If using these (since they are self centering), is there any reason to spend a lot on a picitanny rail? In theory, you should never have any stress on your scope anywhere and you can even use the extra ring inserts to get 20MOA. Instead of spending a lot of time and money on tight tolerance bases and rings (and bedding), these rings should address all the issues, shouldn't they? I guess if your two piece weaver base was very poorly machined, you could have a slight left/right tilt?

You can put the inserts in on one ring to give your elevation but you can also put some in the other ring to change the left and right cant.

you can correct any "tilt"

Depends how much MOA you need. I use a combination of a 20 moa rail and inserts to allow one of my 308s to zero at 100, yet stretch out to 1000. Works quite well. - dan
