considering putting a burris speed bead on the benelli m2 for deer and turkey. i know it will be excellent for turkey but not sure on how well it will work for deer any opinion on this topic would be greatly apprecaited, my concern was that because it wasnt like a traditional scope it would give me an accurate left to right but not much of an accurate elevation

Burris Speed Bead

This sighting system was designed for birds in flight, 20 to 40 yards. I don’t know if it would work for your requirements. I think a red dot, or a low power scope would be a better choose for your needs.

I have the unit mounted, however I have not shot at deer with it, so I can't really comment, but I don't see why it wouldn't work, it's not like you won't see the dot, regardless of the distance that the deer is.

Personally I would get a 2-7 X 32 or similar scope. Mueller makes an interesting one (Multi-Shot) designed for shotguns. It has an illuminated circle reticle for turkey and crosshairs for deer.
