Burris Speedbead..Your Thoughts?

What's up guys? I've got my first shotgun on the way, a Benelli Supernova, purchased on the EE. I got looking around at sight options for it and came across the Burris Speadbead. This red dot sight is a good option, because it doesn't require drilling and tapping the receiver for mounting a rail (may consider this avenue, though). Just remove the buttstock and mount the Burris unit between the stock and the receiver. Seems like a great way to go... Just wondering if any of you have tried this unit on your shotgun.

This shotgun will be used for everything, including deer, coyote, turkey, birds...

if you are using your gun on stationary targets they can be a nice accessory i.e. deer or turkey. my opinion on sight gadgets while wingshooting is that they might actually hinder your shooting. while wingshooting you should be focused on the target not a sight. the receiver and barrel should really be an extension of your arm letting you point rather than aim at the target.

With the change in bold I agree with you. If you're learning to wingshoot leave the gadgets alone.

I have a FastFire II, which is the Speedbead in a different mounting config, on a Mossberg 930 that I use for multigun matches. Works great for slugs and stationary clay targets with birdshot. Sort of works on aerial targets in a pinch, but I certainly would not want this setup for a trap/skeet/clays shotgun. Too much crap in your field of view. Stick to a simple bead, either brass or FO.
