Burris xtr 2 vs sightron s3ss.

A lot of times in threads such as this people project what they have or would like to have and so wish others to have it as well.

I don't think that is the case here - my initial misunderstanding, and what led me to suggest Tier One glass, was the assertion by the OP that he wanted to make but one purchase and get it right. Of course the Siii is really rather nice ( I have three of their 10-50x60's and one of the 8-32x56 which latter is, IMO, the pick of Sightron's litter ) but there are often days when I am shooting a rifle equipped with a Siii that I do, in fact, say "Crap, I shouldn't have chosen a Sightron" and those days are usually when mirage or other atrocious lighting circumstances mean that only my S+B's can do the job but, sadly, the World being what it is I can't afford for all my rifles to carry Alpha Glass. Were I to have only one or two then Hensoldt, S+B and suchlike would grace everything but .......

You all may cringe but I'm buying a vortex pst 6-24 ebr 2c. The Burris will actually cost me 2300 after all said and done I found out minus the rings. That's more than I care to put on right now. Im used to using $200 optics so if I go through life never ever looking through a night force or s and b or other high Enders. I'll think this vortex is the shiz. Lol

Thank you all for your posts. This is the scope that's in the cards for me and I am happy in getting it.

Be gentle .... Im made of low quality glass. I break

Congrats on getting what will clearly be an upgrade over what you have previously used. The PST series is good value - I'm sure you will like it.

Don't want to derail the thread, but I have to ask.

The TT. Which model did you go with, and who had the best price ;) ?

I got the TT525P in mil. Mystic Presicion had the best price and fastest delivery at that time. Same went for a buddy who just bought one for his Tac50 a couple weeks ago. Be warned, the days of great deals on new TT's are over.

I don't think I've ever seen one for sale used, and I know why.

It will be fine, I also didn't do the buy once cry once with mine, I started with a FFP PST also, still have three of them plus a HST, a Strike Eagle and a Diamond Back I got with a used gun, they all work fine for me, I started with one because I wanted to make sure I was going to shoot the gun enough first before dumping a lot of cash into it.

That being said, yes avoid looking through some good glass, that's when the difference really shows up, at least for me it did, although I have a NF ATACR and seeing some rating NF as a mid level, damn high end glass must really something unreal then, but that I will never know, beyond what I'm willing to spend, especially when you see TT's at over 6K!!

That seems a bit steep for the Burris, just over $1800 shipped was the quote I got for a 5-25.

Regardless, congrats on your purchase.. lots of people are using PST's with success

I like my sightron s3 8-32x56
For the price point it's good.
Holds zero, good glass, mil/mil
Its SFP but I was ok with that

You will get better if you pay more, but personally, it was ok for me and at around 1000$ I didn't want to pay more.
