Looking at the 5x25 model and was wondering if anyone here has real world experience with this line? Not alot of information out there for them, couple of reviews that seem promising.

Well pulled the trigger on the 5x25 model. Comparing to the PST 6x24 that I already have....no comparison, I am yet to be a user of high end scopes. This scope is intended for the "entry level" precision tactical scope that IMO is the top of the food chain now. It is supposedly Stiener influenced, not 100% sure on this though. It comes packaged quite nicely with sun shade and scope caps that is a plus.

Better glass at all mags, reticle is much better and finer at high mags. Built more robust on all levels and turrets have a much better zero stop (actual). With a 34mm tube, the ring selection is limited. It will be sitting in USO 4bolt lows on a Sig Sauer SSG3000, that better hurry up!!

Where did u find one? I have heard good reviews on them.

Putting it on a ssg3000? That will be one sweet set up! The ssg I have is a very nice rifle!

I seen that you finally received your SSG, hand loading or were you able to find a nice factory load? I was able to get everything I needed at Prophet River here in Lloyd, except for the 4-6week wait on rifle. It was the only XTR in that mag they had, they did also have the 4x20. They are a large scope and I think it should compliment the SSG nicely. Have you switch out the flash hider for a brake yet?

I didn't know prophet river carried them! I have ordered a bunch of reloading stuff from them a few times and always got great service. The components I used in the ssg came from them, the lapua brass and bullets Anyways.

I tried a load with 3031 that shot nice, and the lapua loads I made up with 4064 looked very promising. With the 155 scenar I made some loads that got up to 2825 fps , with no high pressure signs.

I was considering a Burris xtr 2 for it, but I couldn't find any available in Canada . I have a Schmidt that I can use for now and tested loads with a Leupold.

The ssg just has the flash hinder on it for now. The gun is so heavy I did not really notice much recoil at all, I will have to see how much it moves on the bench . I am not really sure it needs a brake, the 155 grain bullets seem really mild. I shoot a 375 H&H a bunch so this may skew my opinion but it does kick a bunch less than my Swiss K31's.

I have one; burris XTR II 5-25 with TPS steel 34mm rings still in the box and never opened, wrapper still on. I'm hesitating if I would buy a S&B POLICE 5-25 instead...??? But that would mean another 2500$ and not sure I'm that crazy! I would sell the package for 1500$. I guess I would need to try the S&B and see if it would go it.

Well after some waiting time, I have finally received my SSG3000. The Burris is mounted and ready to role, hopefully going to hit the range tomorrow with it. I have some load development to do and then I would like to put this scope through the box test. Will see how precise the turrets will be, I have a feeling this will be a good scope for the money.

Was able to get to the range on Friday. Paralax is more precise than my Viper PST 6x24, as well as the eye box is better. Sat behind it for about 2hrs at the range and did not feel the strain on my eyes as I do with the same time behind the PST. Was only doing load development, so all shots were fired at 100yrds and yet to see how the precise the turrets are. So far so good IMO...

Checked one out a prairie gun traders the other day nice scope. For me I found the reticle way to thick on 25x and that the adjustments have a spongy feel to them. Glass is very nice though. But Im happy I went with vortex razor HD though.
