I just picked up a set of these rings with the inserts. Every set I've used in the past had 0 stamped on the inserts. This set has one set of inserts with 0 another set with .1, and a third with -5 stamped on the plastic.

As I understand this can be used insted of base shims if needed. Can anyone give me a bit of info on this.

Thanks for all your help

The inner circle (that holds scope) is offset to the outside diameter so by rotating the inserts are changing the orientation of the scope relative to rings/rifle.

Always match so they sum to zero (-05 & +05 for instance).

Putting -05 on the bottom on the front same as putting -05 at the top on the back.

If want more elevation raise back, push down front. Can also orient L/R for windage if need be.

Personally I adj. windage on back with a bias to more elevation and pure elevation on front - guess that comes from having used Leupold rings with windage on back.

Go to the Burris website and full movie in explanation.
