Busey Bee Tools

So far mostly just building some little cannons and such. I'm getting back into the swing of machining....it's been a long while since I did much of it.

I'm working my way up with some simple stuff, and going from there.

Check out the 9"x36" lathe in the EE. Great size for gunwork. I recall reading that John Browning prefered a South Bend in this size to anything for gun work and in Gunsmith Kinks P.O. Ackley also claimed these were the ideal gunsmith lathes. Good recommendations in my book.

Absolute newbie question about lathes, isn't it a good idea to have a hole behind the chuck to hold longer pieces out the back end of the jaws, like barrels? I don't see that on the lathes shown in the links.
The sherline lathe does have a spindle bore but it is only .5" IIRC. They are no good for anything large. More for hobby or very intricate work.
