Bush gun scope?

Leupold VariX III 1.5x5. I have two of these scopes and they are perfect for close hunting.

First class all the way, cost a bit more but worth every penny when it comes to light gathering and clarity of optics.

A good scope will make a differnece of getting that shot at dusk and dawn versus not getting that shot.

Has everyone forgotten about "fixed power" scopes? A nice 1.5x or 2x fixed power scope makes a perfect bush optic. Generally they are lighter tougher and sharper optically than a varible scope. And usually a lot less money.

I have a B&L 1.5-6 on one of my rifles.A couple wear 1.5-5 Leupold VXIII with the heavy plex retical.I also just got a Burris LRS 1.5-6 with fast plex that I am looking forward to using this fall.
I hunt with hounds so a low power scope is a must, and they work like a charm.

Win/64 you are absolutely right I never even thought about fixed power, even though I own a few - Weaver 1.5 X and Leupold 2.5X and they are perfect for the bush.

For the price , I will go for the weaver V-3, optic are really clear, and it is easy to pick, but the Leupold is one of the top for the price, and both, even at 20 mm are easy to pick in the bush for a fast shot. I never try the scout concept, but maybe worth a try, if you know someone who got one.

My only issue with a fixed power scope is thati like to sight in my rifles at 100 yds or longer and a 1.5X is difficult for fine tuning. I have a 1.5-4.5 but would prefer a 1.5-6 just for sighting in.
