Judging by the oxidation and the lack of deformation...I would say the 4 slugs in the first pic were fired into a snow drift and recovered in the spring after the snow melted away. The Challenger slug was never fired...simply removed/cut from the shotshell.
Of course only Booomer would know for a fact though since they are his pictures.
