Early 2000's dodge Dakota, a bit smaller than a fullsize but bigger than a tacoma, has the exact same drivetrain as the current Ram's. Get one with a v8 tho. 6 are underpowered and not any better on gas the the 8's. Frames are beefy and strong. Ive been beating the hell out of mine in the bush and its still going strong. They are often forgotten about but deserve to be considered.

Get yourself a Pinzgauer. Front and rear lockers, as narrow as a jeep, huge amount of clearance, stock.... And it carries 1 ton of cargo. Not to mention it can seat 10. Had mine out on Saturday checking for sign.

nice, but expensive to buy as optioned and still no diesel available which was said to be in the works ever since they made a 4 door.Last night I was looking around at a few others, came up with Land Rover, Jeep, Dodge and (believe it or not) Mercedes. I see a few of you have mentioned some of them as well in the meantime.

I drove one of these for months in afghanistan. Not once got bogged in or stuck. When in doubt I jus stuck it in first and floored it. Awesome bit of kit. Loved the suspension and the sound of that Volkswagen engine.(mine was the British Army version, not sure if they differ in Canada?) Awesome that you have one for civilian life.
Some interesting machines and replies, but I can't help but wonder where you would put your moose or your quad? And some of them... do you have toss away your food cooler in order to take your deer home?

I'm pretty sure most people bring their quad and smaller vehicles with them on a trailer behind the truck you use to hunt in. I could never recover game or even get to any of the places I hunt in a fullsize.

Dunno how many times I got a gwagon stuck. Then again don't follow LAV 3's.. Lockers dont do squat when ya hang up on frame. They needed much wider tires.
it appears you are talking the vehicle that gets you to the bush/cottage rather than what the op is looking for, the one that takes you through the bush from the cottage to your hunting area..
