Bushmaster ACR DMR Accuracy and Favorite Loads

I will do exactly that. With precision rigs I will normally do exactly what I have done above but with 4 or 5 powders and 4 or 5 bullets. The gun will.still show me which powders and bullets it likes better. Once I see that I then start playing with loads to see what pressures it likes best. If I have 2 that are close I will play with the both of them. I am not expecting to go out there on Thursday and nail a 1/2" group. I want to show a true unadultered test of this rifle. I showed what it did with some basic factory ammo. Now I want to show preliminary tests. Then another week I'll do more fine tuning. Point is to show folks on here if this gun is capable of anything.

Fair enough, good luck and keep us posted.
I'd really like to have the time to do some load development for my ACR but with 3 new long range rigs in the gun room I think my priorities will be on my 300win and two 308's. I've got some vacation booked in April, May, and June, hopefully I'll get caught up and find a good load for my ACR once the others are ready for the long range shoot I'm hoping to make it to in July.

Ok boys, well there was some really good, some bad.... and some really ugly lol

It was a little choppy out there today with this storm working its way in. Periods of very calm, then gusts of 40kmh. I have pics of all the groups if anyone really wants them. Although I just posted the best 2. Ignore how low I was hitting, if you all recall my first day out with it was at 155 yards. I zeroed it at that yardage that day and forgot that I needed to shoot a couple sighter shots to bring it back. But once I started shooting my groups I left it and fixed it at the end of the shoot. So here is 100 yards on the nose.

So I changed up my strategy. I got bored on Wednesday and bought some more reloading supplies, then of course spent all night loading it. I made 6 groups of 20. Here are the good, bad and ugly. Some may surprise you, as most thought the heavier bullets would do best. They for sure did not. Every group is 5 shots, 4 groups per page. Below is 4 group average.

52 grain Sierra Match King - loaded with 24.6 grains of Varget - Avg 1.743 MOA, Worst - 2.025 Best 1.587
52 grain Sierra Match King - loaded with 23.5 grains of 8208 XBR - Avg 1.610 MOA, Worst 1.822 Best 1.238
75 grain ELD Match - loaded with 24.5 grains of Varget - Avg 2.557 MOA, Worst 2.885 Best 2.221
75 grain ELD Match - loaded with 22.5 grains of 8208 XBR - Avg 2.401 MOA, Worst 2.665 Best 2.064

And the group that surprised me the most. Both are notable

69 grain Sierra Match King - loaded 25.6 grains of Varget

So I don't see a major difference between the powders. But it for sure liked the 69 grain weight.

Considering the wind today I am super impressed with those results out of a semi.
