What would be the more accurate of the 2? Hoping to find a good semi auto for coyote hunting, something that would shoot 1.5 MOA with a 50 gr Vmax would be ideal. The lighter the better. Had an ACR lined up and seller backed out, I see a dealer has one coming in but also got looking at the MV. That said the MV im looking at would be about 1K more, not sure if the extra $$ would really gain much in performance or weight.

Here's my MV. It has the light profile barrel and the Fortis 14" handguard. Never weighed it but there's no doubt it's my lightest NR semi-auto.

Here's pictures of three targets I shot at 200 yards using 1 box of factory Federal Premium 55gr Nosler Ballistic Tip ammo (I have a couple other rifles that also love this stuff). The two 5 round groups produced phenomenal results while the 10 round group opened up to right around 1moa. Keep in mind the pencil barrel so that explains the 10 round group opening up. I took all shots as fast as I could re-aquire target and pull the trigger.

The day I shot that was a perfect shooting day with near zero wind. I have been able to make it shoot that well other times but on the average day I would say I shoot 5 shot groups with this gun and the Federal ammo anywhere between .75 and 1 moa.

I've since tried other ammo through the gun and wasn't as happy with my results so I'm sticking with the Federal.

Will it make a good coyote gun? You betcha... that's what I bought it for.

There's a MV "factory" version on the EE right now. Might be worth looking into but I wouldn't expect accuracy results like I'm getting with mine. Should still be minute of coyote though.

I think both are viable options, but I prefer the ACR platform to AR/MV style of firearm.

Mostly because I appreciate the adaptability and ergonomics built into its design.

If you do want pursue an AR style rifle, unless you specifically prefer side chargers over standard T style charging handles on AR style rifles, I would at least wait to see what the classification of the ATRS MV-S is.

Another option to the MV-S is the MDI SLR, although some aspects of it look half baked.

ACR. Considering how scored they were first in country due to cost - its actually a very good platform with good accuracy. Never have I had a single failure or stoppage in any of the many ACRs I've owned.

ACR for the win.
 
Wait for the MV-s :) No proprietary parts ;) and no ridiculous side CH.

No one loves the ACR more than me, But after lots of training I realized the AR is superior.

AR parts are everywhere - ACR not so much
You have an issue with an AR, more than likely someone else at the range can help you out. ACR not so much
You want to be proficient with a platform the AR is also easier to master. ACR gave me lots of training scars. and it shows when I had to use an AR again.

I even Built my AR ( Mv-s) and AR10 with the same part where I could. That way you become proficient with 2 platforms for the price of 1 :)

That ACR in stock form is an absolute piece of trash. The enhanced cheese grater hand guard sucks, the trigger sucks, and the factory CH is horrible as well. by the time you change those parts you spent more than a MV and its still heavier...lol...

Just to put it in perspective my 102 is lighter than what my ACR was even after all my upgrades.... lol

You gonna lay down with a bipod or carry the rifle around? The ACR is a tank. A heavy, accurate & reliable tank. If you’re carrying the gun any distance I’d go with the modern varminter. Accuracy is about equal.
 
I love my MV. With the Fortis handguard it is very light, and handles well. It also shoots accurately, and has been very reliable.

You can get all of those qualities in an ACR, as well. I think the MV will be much easier to get lightweight, though.
 
I love the ACR but if I was starting off with neither I would probably go with a Modern Varmint.
Accuracy advantage will be dependent on barrel selection with both rifles. I wouldn't buy the ACR DMR due to it's weight, a converted enhanced model will be lighter and hopefully have a high quality aftermarket barrel (factory barrels typically suck on any rifle).
The MV is lighter and parts supply is better with local manufacturer support making it the winner for most part.

I don't think you can go wrong with either but the ACR will definitely be heavier even though I don't find the weight to be a problem for carrying it around.
A good sling and don't weight your rifle down with a bunch of useless crap and both will make an excellent coyote rifle.
