You can get the same feel right now by duct taping a 10lb weight onto an SU-16! Go nuts!
HAHAHA, how dare you compare an SU-16 and an ACR. SU is a total POS, I wouldn't buy one even if someone would sell me one for $25.
I've never understood why so many guys seem so concerned over one or two pounds difference between rifles considering all the useless crap I see people bolting onto their rifles which does nothing but add weight. Bonus mall ninja points I guess. I've slung mine and carried it for hours at a time and never noticed it being any more cumbersome than any other rifle.
My non restricted ACR is under 10 pounds including my Leupold mark AR 3-9x40.
I have yet to handle or shoot another black rifle that I like more than the ACR other than an AR but if they were the same price and both non restricted I'd take my ACR, I have 2 caliber conversions made for it now and another one in the works (if I can ever get some time to work on it). No other non restricted rifle offers the features of the ACR and other than the HK SL8 no other options available to us will shoot as well as an ACR.
I really hope Bushmaster gets their act together and starts supporting the rifle again, they can drop the DMR model completely for all I care, it's just going to be a tank. I did read though that the DMR is going to sport a stainless barrel instead of the CHF barrel the 16 inch currently wears so the DMR may actually shoot better which would be nice since the 16 inch has been reported to shoot close to 1moa with the right ammo.
Here are my conversion kits
Top one is Questar 6.8SPC II, middle one is Questar .223 and bottom one is my custom made by Suputin 300BLK barrel.
