I'm in the market for a rifle that I can go out and plink with as well as take small game with. I have narrowed my options down to the Bushmaster ACR and the IWI x95. I can get the x95 for 2400 landed to me and the ACR for 3000. On top of the ACR I would want to go back to the original polymer fore grip as well as a folding stock which will cost me an additional 400ish dollars. From all the reviews I have read they both yield 1.5 MOA at 100 yards with factory competition ammo or good reloads...

I feel that you don't get your moneys worth on the ACR but I like the ergonomics of it much better than the x95

thoughts?

The price of the ACR is retarded at the moment. I found one 3 months ago for 1850 and I got mine for 1700 couple years back. I wouldn't pay 3K for one thats fo sure. Specially when you need to upgrade trigger and forehand.

I love both and they work 100% I dont think I could actually choose one over the other as they serve 2 different purposes.

The DMR comes with the Super ACR trigger. No upgrade required.

Also, if you get a x95 expecting 1.5moa you will be sadly dissapointed. Expect 2-5 with bulk, and as low as 1.5 if you find something expensive it really likes.

Like Dilligaf, my ACR and x95 do not serve the same purpose in my collection. Both have their own unique advantages and disadvantages.

x95 and tar 21 are not moa guns. I cannot get it under 3moa no matter what scope or what ammo.
acr is a sub $2000 gun. now it is over $3000 here so I would not recommend it. plus it is quite front heavy with a useless barrel change mech.

The DMR ACR is appropriately priced when IRG brings them in IMO. $2800cad, NR out of the box, has a PRS stock that can be sold on the ee (im interested! :p) and has a $350 Geissele factory installed.

The quick change barrel system is amazing and ads very little weight. This is the only rifle I would have if could keep only one. Shoot 5.56, 7.62x39, .300BLK, .450 Bushmaster, .50 Beowulf, have different barrel lengths, you name it. I already have 3 of those 5 calibers in 4 complete barrel assemblies.

Soon I will have a DMR and SBR handguards, and if I find a decent price on a take off DMR stock I will have one of those too!

X95 shooting 1.5moa? I have read those claims, have never come close myself or seen anyone else do it either first hand

Hey bro ! I own one of the first ACRs that came in the country. I did not had a chance to test the Geissele trigger. Whats the big difference ? I find the stock one very crisp, yet heavy but its a battle rifle... Is it just lighter ?

Also, who did you had make your 7.62x39 barrel ? and did you just changed the bolt on the carrier ?

Might I suggest a used TAR21 on the EE? Ergos are great once you get used to them, accuracy is similar to if not better than the X95 (I don't actually own an X95, but have owned a couple of Tavors), and they're a STEAL at $1700-1900 these days.

If not, the ACR is great, but again I'd look for a used restricted one on the EE for around $2100 and buy a NR barrel assembly.

X95 has some neat features but really doesn't, in my opinion, offer much over a TAR21.

I agree with all of this!

Have you ever felt a Geissele AR trigger? The SSA is identical. Hard to explain other than amazing.

Herron arms is the go to for all custom barrel/caliber conversions in canada.

I've owned most of the non restricted black rifles available in Canada other than the X95 (but did own a Tavor) and the APC and out of them all my favorite is the ACR. I built a NR 300BLK conversion that shoots sub moa with my handloads and it has been 100% reliable. I wouldn't buy any model that comes with the railed forend though so I would shop the EE for a used one that someone has already converted to NR.
The Tavor was a good rifle but just didn't do much for me for some reason. I can't really say that one is definitely better than the other because it all depends what you like but if you like accuracy there really is only one choice.
I would strongly suggest finding a way to shoot both before you spend your money.

Good luck seeing 1.5moa from a Tavor or X95, those reports are few and far between and not consistent 1.5 moa groups but more like the best fluke group out of 50 groups made. The rifle shines in other areas though so don't dismiss it unless your shooting really requires sub 2 moa which is good enough for anything other than target shooting and long range varminting or predator hunting.

Never owned an apc but after seeing one in person I just want to say I have never seen a Swiss rifle that is so crude.
