bushmaster/magpul ACR

$2685  I'll pass!

Edit to add: You know Rem/Bushmaster claim costs are related to development, yet this was designed by Magpul in 3 months! All they've done is tweak it, I can't see how 'development' costs have bumped it's cost that much. Also much of the design is molded parts, not more expensive machining. This gun shouldn't be anywhere near the price they're asking. Absolute rip off. Very nice none the less.

It's one thing to design and hand build a few prototypes, its is a whole different ball game to mass produce something.

I agree, price is rediculous but I can see where cost could climb as more and more manufacturing issues arrise.

Looks like a back to basics FN-style handguard. That's quite a price...add exchange and $500 min. margin, importation, tax, lack of availability and you're in the $4000 range pretty fast. I'd rather see a comglomerate form to produce ammunition.

The real question is whether the DoS considers them sporting or non-sporting.

Maybe Canada will be lucky in that Bushmaster's product is obviously a civilian rifle.

Having said that, I'm not even willing to pay the US MSRP here in Canada for that thing. It's far too front heavy, and there are just too many things wrong with that barrel.

The Remington Military version is a more interesting package, but we can probably forget about that one.
