All the same, it's funny how Colt is considered the Gold standard when they mix match their uppers. No consistency in where the barrel was manufactured, no consistency in what kind of BCG you get, no consistency in who made the upper or where. You really never know exactly what you're getting when you buy a LE6920. The chart is a lie.

The important thing is not so much where they are manufactured - it is about applying proper procurement controls to ensure your subcontractor meet the spec. As long as they meet the spec I want, I buy from whoever has the capacity and deliver the lowest price. The important question is - does the final product work?
You can make everything in house - but if your in house quality is crap - who cares if they are consistently crap.

^^^^If you read the authors explanation of the chart, you will see that he fully explains it's limitations. The chart IS useful to those that are totally new to AR's. If I had read it before I got my current AR I would have bought something totally different.
Knowing virtually nothing about AR's, this is what I ended up with:
Bushy Lower.

This is my fault totally of course, but if I had read the chart, I probably would have saved for an LMT or similar. Meh.
Now that I know a little bit more, I decided to just shoot the damn thing and see what happens. So far the M1S has held up good. It's got a FA carrier that's decently staked, the bolt is marked MPI (but who knows for sure), 7075 forged upper, M4 feedramp cuts. Apparently the barrels are ER Shaw. I'm not sure how many rounds it had through it when I bought it, but I've had over 2000 rounds through it since January with zero problems. That being said, I inspect it thoroughly after ever range session and am collecting parts for the inevitable failure. I have noticed some slight peening of the firing pin face, but it doesn't seem to have affected anything. The Bushy lower seems solid. I had to stake the castle nut, but so far I see no issues.
