So I was having trouble deciding what scope to buy this time around. I bought a 3200 tactical 5-15x last year around this time and it has been a great scope. Funds were a little low this time around so after thinking about it for awhile, the great reviews and the good luck with my other 3200 I bought the 10x 3200 tactical. Finally got it out yesterday and it is the biggest pos scope I have ever used. Not sure why. It is almost like my 5-15x was made in Japan and the 10x was made in Taiwan. Has anyone else had issues with these?

My local dealer has been great so I am hoping to return it and upgrade the scope. Gonna say screw it and go with a Zeiss conquest.

screw it, lets go with Schmidt and bender LOL
no seriously what's the issue? you're disapointed of the scope itself or does it have any defaults?

Liked mine..

I had one and liked it. What is the problem with it? You can't be too picky with a 239$ scope. I have Leo. long range tac. scopes that are far superior but my little 10x bushy was good for what I used it for. Had it on an Rem LTR, Ruger#1 varm., and a cz 527. It tracked well and was reasonably clear. Just for the record I think it was assembled in Taiwan. I was impressed enough to want the 5-15. Let us know what your beef was.

I guess I wasn't to specific was I lol. My biggest beef was that I could not get a nice clear view of both the cross and the target. I thought it was just me in that I haven't been to the range in a long time but as soon as I grabbed my tikka with the 5-15 it was like night and day. For a 400 dollar scope the 5-15 is hard to beat. But the 10x was just real hard to get a good sight and I gave up trying to sight in my new rifle. I had trouble bore sighting this one so at the range I started at the 25m bench. Got close enough that I should have been on paper at 100m. Went to 100m and seemed to be a few feet off. Went back to my other rifle and it worked like it should again. I had to verify that is wasnt me but the scope that was giving me issues.

I dunno. I am pretty confident that the new rifle is pretty accurate, my rings are good which just leaves the scope. May sound like I am rambling, but I basically had two issues with the scope. Focus and sighting in.

Did you go through the process of focusing your crosshairs? You know, pointing your scope at blue sky and moving your focus ring until the crosshairs are crisp and clear? (It doesn't matter if the target is clear, as that Bushy doesn't have an AO...only the crosshairs matter.) If you did in fact go through that process and the target isn't clear....then I think you have a rare specimen...bad glass in a 3200 10X. I've seen these scopes used effectively out to 800-900m, so it would have to be bad glass.

Also, make sure you're scope is at it's optical center before sighting in. Then you're sure of how much windage and elevation you have to work with.

I seemed great in my living room. I could look accross the street, the crosshairs were nicely focused and anything I looked at seemed crisp. I get to the range and is just wasnt crisp anymore, and I could not get a good clean sight. Like I said I thought maybe it was just my eyes or something but then I went to use my other one and it was great. I still have it in my truck as both dealers I usually deal with are closed today.

And I think parallax is set to 200 yards with that scope.

So at 25 yards the error might be a little large. :)

I do not think so!

Lower powered tactical style scopes are not usually supplied with parallax adjustment because the exact range of the target can never be anticipated. Scopes of lower magnification are not usually supplied with parallax adjustment either, because at lower powers the amount of parallax is so small as to have no importance for practical, fast target acquisition.

Parallax distortion increases with range and increases with magnification. 10 power is not really very high and often scopes of this power are set at about 200 yards which is a good compromise for moderate range. I often shoot with my VX2 (no P adjusment) set at 9 power and where I can shoot under an inch at 100 yards, I can put through same hole at 25 yards. Error may be large at very long range but seems to be nil at 25 yards.

So I decided to sell this here instead of taking it back to the dealer. They didnt seem to interested in getting it back. I figured it out thanks to you guys. The AO is a feature I need and cant live without. Thought it might be something else but turns out that is all it was. Thanks for the help.

You don't necessarily need AO on a fixed 10x. Probably don't need ti at all. I've used that same scope out to a half mile and printed sub MOA groups with it. Hard to argue with that.

I just hope newb's read the whole thread, or they'll think that the 3200 you bought was a POS. You should put a correction that states: Never mind, it's not the scope that is the problem, it's the guy behind it.;)
