Good scope for a 17 hmr and for paper punching. I believe this scope have no parallax adjustment and the reticle is a little on thick side.

Good scope for the money, but the features of it that you mentioned will make it harder to shoot tiny groups at varying ranges.

IMO parallax adjustment is essential.

Lots of elevation adjustment, but you don't really need that for a HMR. Reticle is a bit on the fat side for targets, but OK for hunting. In the 3200 line, I have 2 of the 4-12 AO scopes. One has a fine duplex and the other has some kind of ballistic reticle with fine holdover lines. Have one on a 10/22 and the other on a CZ 452. You would probably find these to be a better optic for your HMR.

Got one on a savage 110. Like it alot. Now that you metioned it, it does have thick lines for the reticle. Oh well good enough for me till I get this gun dialed in right.

I have had good results with a 6.5 x 25 Mueller Eraticator.

It's a rather large scope on top of my moded Ruger 10-22. However it really works well at 100 & 200 yds. It will also focus well at 20 yds.

No it is not the equal to my Bushnell 4200's, but the price was much less. All things considered I rate the Mueller to be a very good value.
