Anyone know the diameter of the ocular on these 6-24x50 30mm tube scopes? I'm trying to figure out what height of rings I'll need for one of these on my AR15. The objective will easily clear the handguard because of the riser on the receiver, but the ocular will be close to the scope rail. It is on my current scope on the rifle.

I have run burris tactical rings on my ar that are the tallest. I beleive they are 1" tall. This was the perfect height.

That's what I used to use with my Bushnell 4200 6-24X50T. If you don't use a riser, get the tall Burris signature Z-rings. I used them with the provided +-10' inserts to offset the scope elevation for long range (I shoot my AR out to 800y). I have since changed my setup because the scope was positioned too high for me and I had to add an improvised cheek riser to get a good cheekweld. I now use the medium Burris Signature rings on an offset 1/2" riser (the front of the riser extends over the free float tube). This places the scope at just the right hight for a good cheekweld using an A2 stock. It also allows the scope to be moved forward enough to get the correct hold on the stock. The end of the occular is about even with the charge handle which is generally the preferred scope position.

If you want the tall Burris rings (30mm), I have a set for sale now, complete with offset inserts, which are like new.
