I'm leaning toward the Bushnell for the 6500 for the 5R Milspec I ordered today. The only thing that I don't like is there's only 50 moa of adjustment which seems low after some reading. How do you make adjustments without target turrets?

You can also buy Burris pos-align rings with inserts(.01, .02) and adjust your scope with a (-) insert in the bottom front ring and a (+) insert in the bottom rear ring. This is what I did for my first 1000yd shoot.

Not hash marks

The only problem with the 6500 series of scopes is that you have no elevation or windage reference hash marks on the turrets towers. Once you turn your turret one full turn you will have no reference for where you are. You can make your own but I figure that if your spending $600+ for a scope you should not have to do that. It almost seems like the scopes are setup for hunting only?

Bushnell has agreed that this was missed on the original design and they will be doing a running change on the current models to rectify this. Also there are "tactical" models coming with the larger tac knobs and subdued printing but they have yet to arrive. Phil.

I just went on the Bushnell site and now there is a 6500 with target turrets, I'm sure they wasn't yesterday. I guess it will be a while until they start showing up here.

Any idea when the new changes are going to arrive? Only reason I'm asking was that I checked them out just last year before hunting season and they had no markings.

They didn't give a time line...only stated it was going to be a running change in their production. The new tactical models will already be updated but still none shipped and no ETA. Phil.

Friggin bushnell. Wanted one of their 6.5-30 last summer but couldn't get past the turrets. Ended up with the 4200 6-24. Its a nice scope but the 6500's should have had proper turrets from the start.
