Bushnell 6500 Elite 4.5-30 mounting and review

Quinte Outdoor sports in belleville ontario has the top end 6500 for $799.00. That's cheaper then Higginsons and Wholesale Sports by $50-$100!
I'm in the Market for a scope for my R700P in .308, and am leaning toward this scope just because of what I'm reading on here. If anybody can tell me why not to buy it, please let me know. I plan on doing some long range shooting out to 800-1000 yards if possible with this scope.

Are there any other recommended scopes for this price range?

I'd say get the 4.5-30 x50 with Mil-dot reticle. Might be a tad fuzzy, but the dots are nice to have to hold over.

I picked up the 2.5-16 x50 and its wonderful for what I do with it. Shoot 30-06 up to 500m. Hunt up to 300m.

Get what you need and what you'll use it for. 30 power was just too much for what I would use it for.

But the elite 6500 is a hell of a scope for the price it is offered at

I ended up getting the Bushnell 4.5-30x50mm, and I am very happy with it. The pics just don't do it justice....

I recently picked up a 2.5 x 16. What is amazing is that it is uber easy to find an animal/target and it is very clear. I look for anything that helps me with getting a shot off so I was pleasantly surprised. Ive recently purcased a conquest rapid z 600 and I would prefer the busnell in heavy growth/short term shooting. I couldnt let an opportunity to get a yote while going for a drive today after blowing 4 boxs at the range. At 100 yards with a 7mm wby mag 140 gr accubonds it was over almost immediately. It was uber easy to pick him out of the bush. Its one of the best scopes for the bush that I have seen. Then again Im the guy who bemoans selling a lower grade bushnell with firefly feature.I can find an animal very very quickly with a bushnell. I cant with a Lupold. I also like the slightly heavier reticle. The 2.5 is amazing as the animal is instantly there. Now if only wby would use a clip rather than the top loading goofiness.
