So I picked this up off of Amazon, just wondering what owners think of it? with respect to shooting, so using it with a spotting scope or range finder?
I'm thinking that I will use with the Bushnell CONX range finder. I don't have "buyers remorse" however I think at the price point it will work , sans buying a RRS or a Manfrotto. Cheers

With tripods there is almost always going to be a compromise. You can have two of the following: low cost, light weight and stable. If you find one that offers all three please PM me with details! LOL.

Thanks, to "qualify" weight wasn't' really an issue, but I understand your point. I wanted something "robust" and modestly priced, I figured I didn't need carbon fiber for a range finder or spotting scope, but I'm always "chasing" quality and value.

For range use I would agree. Weight isn't going to be as big an issue if you aren't lugging it around in the field. So cheap and sturdy being the main considerations, how do you like the Bushnell?

It should be here on Tuesday, and then I'll mount the CONX range finder and take it out for a "test drive". I think? for ranging long distance a tripod mounted range finder is the way to go, however I'm just getting "my feet wet" so more to follow.

Honestly for just ranging or spotting you don't need anything crazy for a tripod. I'm sure the Bushnell will work fine for your needs. Where that changes is when you start shooting off the tripod.

You're right, I have the carbon fiber Manfrotto with the HOG saddle for that. Cheers
