Does anyone know the math formula for "range finding" with the Banner 6-24 Mildot? I know that I have to use the 12x magnification setting (since the 12 is red instead of white like the rest) but I don't know the formula.

The manual that came with the scope is for a Bushnell Trophy and only gives the formula for 9x magnification which is different than the banner's 12x magnification (the banner doesn't have a 9x magnification setting anyways).

If it is mildot at 12x, then you simply follow all the standard formulas for mildot. For instance, if you estimate it as 3 feet tall and it covers ten mildots, then

1 (yard tall) *1000/10mildot=100 yards

or
1 (meter)*1000/10 mildots=100 meters

or

2 units tall *1000/5 mildots=400 units distance away

Ive got it now, I thought there would be difference from 9 or 12 but I see what you're saying that it's set up for 12 then the regular formula still works.

I have one just like it, and I made up marker ribbons of various heights and tested it out at the range. 12x seemed right on for correct mildot height. Its not a bad scope for the money. Fairly clear at high magnification. Mines got some weird range finding gradient below the cross hairs. Looks like an anti-tank sight. Yours?

Mine looks just like a plane jane mildot. I paid $120 shipped for it so Im not complaining as long as it works. Hope to find out later this week.
