Has anyone ever sent a scope in for repair? Just wondering how long it takes Bushnell to get back to you to tell you if the scope will be repaired under warranty or not.

I sent in a red dot that was defective. I never heard from Bushnell regarding how long the repair would be. I just received a new red dot in the mail no questions asked. IMHO they are great for warranty stuff.

Thanks for the reply.

I sent a scope to bushnell and was told I would receive a repair number for it so I could check the status but they didn't tell me if Id get the number by phone, email, or snail mail.

Look for something in 6-8 weeks, then call. FS

I sent a set of binoculars in once. It took a couple of months. I heard nothing about it until they were returned, repaired. (Except for loss of coating on a small area of one objective lens. No charge for any of it, so can't complain much.)

I think that model happened to have a lifetime warranty. I didn't say how long I had had them nor that I had bought them second hand, but I also didn't claim to have bought them new and my written request accompanying them was for an estimate of the cost of repairs.

Currently Bushnell Canada is saying 3-4 months for warranty. I am very happy with Bushnell products and seldom( if ever) have any problem with their higher end products but I feel their warranty time frame is too long. I know at this time of the year it is unlikely to get fast warranty work in the gun business (except Leupold) but I think the Bushnell corporation has to allow more money and personel to keep their warranty work to a reasonable time frame. They have aquired more optics lines recently and havent increased their staff for warranty work. Phil.

I was told the same story. Never did get a repair number, but a new scope arrived in the mail after about 6 weeks. Their communications are poor to none but they seem to deliver on the product.

I'm pretty sure that the wait for Bushnell service has been the same for about 25 years, and I don't see it getting any better, soon. FS

Only time i've ever had a bad scope, I sent it back to the dealership (Walmart) that I bought it at, and demanded a replacement, or if you wish your money back, did you buy it directly from bushnell?

X2 same thing happened to me too!

A couple years ago I fell into a river. My scope was a Tasco, and it got wet inside, even though they're supposed to be waterproof. My Binocs were cheap Bushnells, and never were they advertised to be waterproof, but I sent them in anyway, since they had droplets on the inside of the lens. I sent them in the end of November. I had consistent Email communication with the repair lab. They sent me a brand new scope and brand new Binocs. I got them some time in January.
Recently they acquired Simmons as well. My Simmons Aetec couldn't handle the recoil of my .308 Norma Mag, and the reticle came loose at the range. I sent it in 6 weeks ago and haven't heard a thing from them. I sent them an email and they basically told me to sit tight and be patient, but haven't even confirmed if they've received the scope. So here I wait. After my first experience I was really happy with Bushnell. Now I'm not so sure.

Did anyone have to send money to Bushnell to pay for the shipping back of the scope? On their website it states that I'll have to send them $10 for return shipping but I forgot to put in a postal money order when I originally sent in the scope.

From what I've been hearing locally, they'll likely send it back to you free of charge regardless.

Not sure if that really helps.

Just for kicks, what kind of scope did you send in for repairs?

Lots of good experiences here by the sounds of it, that's good I guess!

For myself I know I will never have to deal with them again. Mostly because I will never buy another Bushnell product, ever. After numerous dealings with them from products I have owned and sending back things from friends and family that was enough for me.

Little to no communication(not for lack of trying), not repairing items for stupid reasons, receiving lesser products back than they were sent, as well as other things. Not for me anymore, not worth the headaches.

Here's my experience with Bushnell.

http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php?t=168460

I spoke with Bushnell again today and they have completed the repairs on my scope. It had a loose erector (gotta keep it away from my .375 H&H carbine!) as well as a parallax condition. Both issues have been repaired under warranty. I paid $10 for the shipping and they say I should receive it by next week.

So overall, they received it June 25. I started to call them steadily this week and they bumped it ahead in the order. If I receive it by the end of next week, say July 27, that would make the turnaround about 5 weeks.

The lesson here is that you should call them on their 800-361-5702 line and press them for service.

I'll report on whether or not the scope is working well once I get it back.

ok well I contacted Bushnell Canada and told them they've had my scope for 2 weeks (so says canada post) and just wondering if they can confirm it.

Their reply was that it will take 6-8 weeks BEFORE they'll tell me they have my scope and then another 6-8 weeks TO REPAIR it.
