I'm sure it just me, but I had a little difficulty at the range with my Bushnell ELITE 3200 10x Tactical mildot. At 50 yards I put the crosshairs on the target, and used the rear ocular lens adjusment to focus in on the targer.....but when the target was crystal clear the crosshairs were blurry....then I focused it so the crosshairs were clear, but then the target was blurry.

How do I get it so that both are clear. I know its probally something simple, but I can figure it out. I've read the owners manual on FOCUSING but it wasn't much help.

Thanks alot for any help,
Pietro.

That adjustment is to focus the reticle. You need to point the scope in a clear white background and rotate the rear ocular lens until the reticle is sharp. Do not look at it for more then a few seconds, close your eyes for a few seconds and do it again until it's sharp.

That scope has the paralex set at the factory, can not be adjusted. Hope that helps.

So what your saying is....... once the crosshairs are focused...if the target is still blurry, I'm fu*k'd???? Will I have to make a compromise between target clarity and reticle clarity???????

tyr it out to a target at the 100 board....probably be fine there at that distance......I had one on a 17HMR and found the same thing...100 yards was perfectly fine.....I believe I read somewhere that it does have parallax set from the factory at 100 yards

Basically yes. Most shooters find the factory set focus acceptable. 10x may be approaching the limit of acceptability.

I would set the reticle in sharp focus at all times.

That's why they make adjustable parallax scopes, but not for $240. The 10X Mildot Elite is unique in a good way though. In my experience, the windage and elevation adjustments at this price level are usually just decoration. They are not meaningfully attached to the erector tube. In this scope they are.

If you look at the Bushnell site under your scope, it will tell you where it was set. I believe typicaly it's between 100 to 150 yards.

Scopes with magnification of greater than 10X need an adjustable objective, so you are on the limit with that one.

The adjustment on that scope is for the sharpness of the reticle only. If the sharpness of the image is realy bad, you may have an issue with the scope. Contact Bushnell and see what they can do for you, sorry for the bad news.

Your gonna find that the tgt will be clear between 150 and 300 meters, outside that there will be a bit of out of focus, now the reticle is totally differant , it will focus at all ranges. I would find a happy medium when outside those close and far ranges. Its a $300 scope after all.:)
