Bushnell Elite 3200

I have a B/L 3000 3x9. It is the predecessor of the Elite. It has been a good scope on my 30-06, very reliable and bright for the money.

I put it on my .375 H&H carbine and shook the erector loose shooting it off of the bench. I returned it to Bushnell and they repaired it in about 3 weeks. I called them often and that seemed to help with the turnaround time.
 
The Elite 3200s are the minimum quality I put on my rifles today. They are a very good value and there is a relatively large selection of models to choose from. The optical clarity below this model line is not acceptable for me.

Yes, there are better scopes out there. No, I do not think there are better scopes for the money.

In terms of warranty support, at least there is a warranty depot in Canada. Unfortunately, warranty turnaround can be quite some time (6 weeks at last check).

I agree with the Gorky one - My go-to hunting rig and target rig have either Leupold or Zeiss (Conquest) on them. Maybe one day I will spring for a Nightforce or better, but not yet.....nor have I seen a reason to - yet.

But Bushnell Elite 3200 or 4200 is also my minimum standard for my other rifles.... and I've had very good success with them. To each their own, some prefer Nikon or Falcon, or what-have-you.... that's why they make so many!
 
I think pretty highly of the Elite line. So much so, in fact, that I traded a buddy my Leupold target for a 4200. I find that their optics are much cleaner and brighter. They have survived the 338 and 375 H&H and the 300 mag without any grief. If the crosshair is on it, it's dead, period. Don't matter if it's paper or critter. I prefer the 50mm AO models, and will never buy another leupy since I have been using the elites. They also work great on the 45 70 with monstermasher loads. It's the same old story as don't buy a ford or a chev or a chrysler or a whatever. People are prejudicial about everything.

And this is a good point to make as well. The Elites are are great value for the money and are fine for normal hunting situations or range shooting but if tough comes to tough, I go to Leupold or Nightforce.

Budget really plays a big role in choosing a scope nowadays. When I first got in to shooting, I was told to spend half of the value of the rifle on the scope. I thought that was nuts. When I heard a few guys say that you should spend equal amounts on the rifle and scope, I thought that was certifiably insane. Now, my guns have gotten more expensive, as have my optics. I understand the value of premium gear. Then again, my budget allows me the opportunities for both the gear and the hunting experiences. If I had to constrain myself, the Elite 3200 are a great compromise.
 
They are one of the best optic for the money.I have them on a few of my rifles
from 25-05 to 300WM,and i have'nt gotton any problem yet so far!!!;)
 
I have a Bausch & Lomb Elite 4000 6-24x40 AO (predecessor to the Bushnell Elite 4200 without Rainguard) on a high use HB Remington 700 in 22-250 that is still as good as the day I got it about 15 years ago. The accuracy of this gun and scope combination is better than I can shoot so I can't justify changing the gun or scope. I have never had to return a Bushnell from my personal collection for warranty (they all have been Elites). Phil.
 
I think that the perception of the higher end Elite series scopes is tarnished to some extent by the well deserved poor reputation of the low end Bushnell scopes.
 
Their warranty is slow and it was irritating me.
However today they sent me a new 2-7x 3200, and the best part?... I sent a Legend for warranty and they replaced with a better scope!
 
I have a 3200 3-9x40 on a Tikka T3 Hunter. I've killed 5 deer with it in 2 seasons. It's had a couple bumps, but nothing major. Works well.
I've sent in 2 scopes and 1 binoc to Bushnell Canada under warranty. The first time was 3 years ago, and I got replacements in about 3 weeks. This fall I sent in a Simmons Aetec [Bushnell bought Simmons] and I got it replaced in about 5 weeks. I can't really complain about that too much. I also have a couple of Nikon Buckmasters. The Nikons are a bit brighter, but the 3200 has more precise adjustments. The 3200 is a touch lighter too. My Simmons Aetec is more bright and clear than any of those I mentioned. But I had one break on a .30 cal magnum. I mounted the replacement on the same gun just to see if it will break as well. I have a couple VXII's, and they are definately better and nicer. $250 nicer? Hmmmm.
 
fighters during ww2 were making 500 yard headshots with 2 to 4 x fixed scopes learn your rifle learn your glass and youll be surprised what you can hit when you pay attention to detail, I have a r700 vtr in 308 and a 3200 scope and I wouldnt sell it if i fell into money tomorrow its been through the grinder and its tried tested and true.
