Does anyone know who has these in stock and what the going price is. I'm only interested in the new one with the side focus not the adjustable objective.

Thanks

Bought the last one in stock in the great montreal area about a month ago. I paid 740$ with both taxes included. P&D quoted me 679$+taxes+shipping, but were back order (that was nov. 16th).

They are GREAT scopes, and very compact too for a 6-24.

Good luck!

That's the one with the adjustable objective, I'm looking for the one with the side focus like this.

Have one, like it, got it from P&D, around $700. Not much else to say about it really. It's noticably more compact than the front-AO model. Glass is typical of the 4200 series, around VX-II or maybe VX-III quality.

Mildots are always nice, clairity and brightness is good and the side parallax is fantastic. I wish it had full target knobs, and not the 'semi target' ones - although I'm sure some are glad for the compact less bulky ones. They work well, in any event, and can be adjusted without tools. A 30mm tube would also be nice to have, although this does have a lot of elevation as it, and of course you can use the dots for even more if necessary.

Essentially, this scope is the 2.5X10 chassis with the 6X24 turrents and optics stuffed in. A very compact 6X24 scope. I got an early production model and was not pleased with the optics. It had way more edge distortion then my many other 4200 scopes.

It has gone back to Bushnell for service.

As a rule, I consider the 4200 optics and mechanicals the best buy on the scope market today. Elevation adjustment is a bit light for LR shooters but serve just about everyone elses needs just fine.

I do alot of scope dialing in my LR shooting and these turrents are wonderful.

Get the scope, you will be impressed. Higginson usually has a good inventory and really good pricing on Bushnells. I don't think you will need to pay over $700 at your door.

Strange that SWFA has a picture of the newer shorter version with the side focus and Bushnell has a picture of the older longer version with the AO up front.

Maybe Bushnell has alot of the older version to unload, or their webmaster is really slow. It does not take much time to change a link on a web page to an updated photo.

Just bought one of these and just need to find time to mount it on my .243. Am impressed with the initial clarity of the optics just looking through it, am looking forward to getting it mounted and to the range.

Mine didn't come with a sunshade though curiously enough. I know the older parallax adj. ones did so not sure why it was omitted from this one in the pkg.

I got one last week also. It won't get mounted untill the rifle gets built in the late spring, but my initial impression is that it's going to be a great scope. Nice and clear, short, and only weighs 16 oz's. Exactly what I was looking for.

Would you choose this over the Leupold 6-18 Target? http://www.opticsplanet.net/leupold-vari-x-ii-6-18x40mm-ao-target-rifle-scope.html

I had my mind set on the Leupold until I learned about this compact Bushnell. I've fallen into the "for just a bit more, you can get <insert newest model>" trap.

Yes, I bought the Bushnell. Lots of people advise to spend as much as you can possibly afford on optics, but I feel that once you get to a certain performance level you get deminishing returns for the price. I've used a 4.5-14x40mm Leupold quite a bit and honestly like the Elite 6-24x40mm SF better. Leupolds are quite a bit higher in price in Canada than they are in the US also. I don't think you will be able to find that scope you linked to anywhere near that price here in Canada.

Thanks for the feedback. I've seen the VXII 6-18x Target for about 488USD... so about $500 USD including shipping. Add the currency conversion ($586 CAD) and taxes (7%)... so about $630 CAD total...

I think this thread mentioned that the Bushnell is about $700 taxes and shipping in? So if the figures are right, you gain the extra magnification (18-24X) for an extra $70?
