Bushnell elite 6500 ... Any good?

I bought a Bushnell Elite 6500 a few months ago for my 6.5x55 (sorry not at home at the moment but I think it's a 50mm?), great scope, great lighting (at least to my eyes, I wear contact lenses not prescription eye glasses when shooting). I also own several 4200 and 3200 models and I feel the 6500 is brighter to my eyes.

Well I've been looking for awhile and with the 2.5 to 16 and the price range this is what looked the best. Plus it's not a tank:) Anyway I got one all lined up , thanks to a fellow cgn,er.

Anybody have any experience with this scope ? Im going to be using it for hunting and maybe some paper punching . Out to 500 yards . It's going on a .308View attachment 32761

I had one I bought new and sold it for a loss a few months later. I was not impressed with the image quality at longer ranges.
I looked through it side by side with my Sightron SIII and was disgusted I wasted my money when I should have put that money towards another Sightron.

After having used two of these scopes I can safely say they are not worth it. The optical clarity at full magnification is cloudy. A vari x 3 from the very early 1990's kills these scopes for resolution. The leupold at 100 yards at full magnification would allow me to read the writing on the bottom of the rifle target (24 power). The bushnell at 24 power could not do this and it just got worse at full power. These scopes, in my opinion, are a waste of money. Get a sightron, vortex viper, vx3 or an entry level Zeiss.

Thanks for the info, I got a great deal on one , if it don't work out , the sting won't be to bad :) . I'm only shooting out to a few hundred yards , so this should do, I had a sightron 1x7 and although it was very clear , it weighed a ton :) and it was 13 inches long. I would think the s111 would be longer and heavier. Had zeiss hd 5 and it had beautiful glass but again it was heavy.
