Bushnell elite or Burris fullfield

Hello, I am trying to choose between Bushnell elite 4200 tactical 6-24x50 mildot Japan used $500 or

Burris fullfield iv 4-16-50 LR (New $679)

Any input would be appreciated !
Application is entry level medium long range practice with 308 Savage Varmint. 12FV

I'd go with the Bushnell 4200, they have excellent glass & one of the best warranties.

The only problem you're going to run into with that particular Bushnell is that the reticle is mil-dot (mils) and the turrets are MOA.....

Which, in my opinion, is a silly combination.....but that's how they used to make them.

The newer versions are mil-mil

Plus side; if you break it/it breaks, they'll replace it with the latest mil-mil model (which I actually think is the Forge line now?)

Yes, excellent point. That is a little strange with MOA/Mill. I actually emailed Bushnell and asked about the coverage, they replied right away! I think I will hold off and go with Leupold or Bushnell. Thanks everyone!
Here is the reply from Bushnell, great service considering the scope is 10 years old:


The 426245T is a discontinued model which originally came with a "limited lifetime" warranty which guards against manufacturing defects but is limited to any external damage that may be caused by impact, tampering or abuse.
(Please do note that this model was made prior to the "no questions asked" warranty which was introduced in 2016).

If you purchase this scope and should have an issue with it down the road, you would certainly be welcome to send it in for service assessment and as long as there are no signs of external damage such as a bent or dented body tube, then we would still honour the original limited lifetime warranty terms. If there were to be any reason for any costs to be involved we would notify you in writing prior to proceeding with any work on the unit.

I had a different reticle japanese 4200 elite same magnification. Great glass for the money and I think $500 used is right on.

while ago a friend had a burris 4-16 which the eye piece came slack shipped it for warranty service and they shipped it back saying nothing was wrong with it. so I will never ever buy any or recommend burris stuff. Bushnell stand behind their products

I was just wondering what the above statement even means? I have 4 Burris scopes and they are all excellent scopes.

not the best but still able to make it work ... you do not use the turrets but just the reticle.
