I have had several, still a 1.5-6 on my muzzleloader. IMHO they are the most fail safe way to illuminate a scope, you never have to worry about a switch/wire/battery failing on you, or adding extra weight. That said, you need to "charge it" with a flashlight as it is simply glow in the dark. The reticle is thick on the posts and illuminated, the crosshairs are thinner inside the duplex and not illuminated. It brackets the target really well without obscuring it.
