Anyone try these? Any reviews?

I’m interested, I have wanted an illuminated 1-8x with a hunting reticle for a while and there are some good deals out there.

A bit apprehensive because I associate bushnell with 1.75-4x banners and cheap binoculars. Is their vx-3 priced model vx 3 quality? Country of origin can be a hint to quality but I have honestly never tried a South Korean optic.

Hoping to put it on a bigger caliber, anyone tried this?

Really like the concept and the only similar scope I’ve seen is the Riton X7 and that’s unfortunately out of the price range. Any others with a duplex style reticle ?

i have a few ar and ak bushnell with illuminated and they work great. the prime 1-4x24 with german 4 is great and the red dot is really interesting.

cant comment on the specific model but mine is par with the elite i had.

time only will tell.

Looks very sweet but at 24oz and a 34mm tube, a wee bit porky for my hunting applications. I prefer Trijicon accupoints (1-4 / 1-6x) or Leupold Firedots (1-5). Lighter, tighter and super tough.

Have you hunted it? How do you find it performs at 8x in lower light conditions?

I have always like 1-5 etc but a true 1-8 is a real all arounder with low and high end advantages over the 2-7

I just got it a few months back and have not had a chance to even take it to the range but I have looked through it into the forest around my house at dusk and I can see better/brighter through the optic then with my bare eyes. It's good good glass in my opinion but it's not a light weight optic.... it's built like a tank!

I find with most variable optics the max magnification is not the best in terms of performance so a 1-6 is better at 5 then 6 and a 1-8 is better at 6-7 then 8 if you know what I mean?

I just bought a used bushnell elite 6500 1-6 with an illuminated #4 reticle that is lighter weight and has a 30mm tube it will be interesting to compare the 2 when it arrives..... We seem to be in a golden age of optics right now with many less expensive options entering the market with quality tracking and internals and good lenses and coatings. The Arken optics are a good example of this trend if you can believe some of the online reviews....

yes i d like to hear that review as the 6500 was a unicorn.

Picked up the 6500 1-6.5 X 24 this morning. Next to the Forge it looks like a Tacoma parked beside a jacked up American full size truck..... :)

Today is overcast and raining, and looking out into the dark forest the Forge is a hair brighter and has a noticeably more vibrant colourful image. I think I will prefer the lighter weight of the 6500 and smaller size for a hunting rifle but the forge is better optically. I believe the 6500 is at least 8 years old, it seems like optical quality continues to get better and as I said before I think we are in a golden age of amazingly well made optics at low to mid range prices.

I'm looking at an identical scope. Bushnell engage 1-4x24 with german #4 reticle and illuminated dot. I think it would be just right for a sporting mauser in 8mm.
I have a bushnell elite 2-7x32 and after buying that 5 or 6 years ago I decided I don't need to spend more than that to get good optics.

I have the Bushnell Prime 1-4x with illuminated G4 reticle, I've never been able to understand the difference between the Prime and Engage in this size, look pretty much identical. Mine is on a short-range, compact .35 Whelen and it's great for the money, tough and clear at most hunting ranges.

I have a Forge 1-8. They are decent for the money. My two complaints are weight, and magnification adjustment is very slightly gritty.

they said engage is better and prime begin on the line but who knows.
