Hello, I had an older bushnell integrated rangefinder bino. It broke sent it back and for a heck of a deal they sent me there new model. Now the specs say 500 on deer, 1000 on a tree and 1600 on refeltive.

Well.... a small four foot bush on the bottom of a river coulee must be REALLY reflective at it was 1794 yards away. Four mule deer walking in a line were 794, 802, 816 and 826 yards.

This was hand held, being there is no tri-pod mount, standing outside the truck.


Just thought I would let some know if they are thinking of buying such a tool. I would pay again for this product. The binos are excellent for the price as well. I will scarifice the glass if it shows me those distances.

WTF over a mile????
 
thanks, was looking at these and the lieca that came out with slope and temperature readings. but if these are performing this good, they have better magnification and a bino style compared to the monocular. I might go with these instead

My experience with these has been fantastic as well.
I was ranging cattle at 1300 yards easily.
The glass is decent as well. I usually don't use Bushnell products but this unit is great!.
 
I had inquired about these in a thread here once and was told they were garbage. I have played with them several times and always thought they were pretty good.

Would love to compare them beside the Leica units. Bet they just might hold their own!
 
It's a better range finder than my Leica LRF1200 Scan, that's for darn sure.

Not sure yet how it performs in poor conditions or extreme cold yet, but I intend to find out...
 
I took it hunting on Friday, and 0*C temps didn't seem to phase it. It's snowing right now, and the farthest object within view of my window is 1247 yards. Not a problem. I'll keep putting it to the test as the season goes on, and the temps drop...

I have a pretty large network of friends who hunt and shoot, and so far I am the only one of the group with this product. Everyone who tries them out is impressed, I just can't imagine a whole pile of people saying they're crap.
I bought mine when it was pretty much new to the market and their wasn't even so much as an internet review on the unit yet. I'm usually not one for taking a leap of faith, especially with a product like Bushnell. Two plus years of hunting and field-use and the electronics still work great.
They are heavy though!
I don't have a Leica rangefindr to compare them with, but as for the optics quality they hold their own just fine against any Leupold or mid-priced Ziess bino IMHO.
 
The guys offering the negative comments were basing them on the older Bushnell products. The 1600 Elite and Fusion products are head and shoulders better than the older products and right up there with the big name European ones.
 
Question then.... I have read the manual front to back(the english part) and... Does it do the trig for you in regular mode for angle shots or does it have to be in RIFLE mode to do this? Also will it do the trig at 1300-1700 yards?
 
It has to be in rifle mode. In regular mode it just gives you the range readout. I think there is a limit to how far it'll do the trig for you, but I can't remember right now what it is. It's in the manual.
 
I had similar experience - my bushnell 1500 crapped out - Bushnell warranty sent a new one - which turned out to be the new 1600 model in the end.

Between me shipping it away and the new one arriving (I didn't even know if they would warranty it - it was CLOSE to being out of warranty) - I had a sheep hunt so I DID splurge for the new Leica rangemaster 1600.

I have been able to do head to head comparison between the two - and the leica is worth every penny more that it costs. It's 10x faster...gives me pressure and temperature readings on top of angle of shot, which I plunk into bulletflight on my iphone and dial my comeups and let fly.

Max range with my bushnell 1600?? Just shy of 1790 to a 6x8 sign announcing the arrival to the town I live in. The leica ranged it at 2300...same evening - same conditions. Bushnell on tripod - leica being rested on top of bushnell on tripod because there's no screw hole on the leica to screw it to a tripod.

I do like the bushnell because I am a bowhunter first and foremost...leica doesn't have a bow mode...and I hunt from trees frequently.

Each has their purpose - both are damn nice - but for my long range rifle hunting - Leica is my pick of the litter. Someday I dream of having one of their pairs of binos with the same rangefinder built in. higher magnification on that same rangefinder would be absolute HEAVEN!! But....the price tag is a bit excessive....to me...at the moment....if my financial standing changes that's one of the first things I'm buying.

And no - the bushnell stops doing ballistics calculations beyond 500 YARDS...500meters you get data - the variables start to grow, things like temp, air pressure, humidity etc OTHER than basic ballistics charts need to be factored in. Out to 500 yards it's actually reasonably close!

The leica has something like that built in also - I have't even tried it yet. Don't care - I have an app for that :D
 
I did a test yesterday on a mule deer doe at 416 yards on a 12 degree angle. The angle was taken off my slope/cant indicator on my rifle. The reading in "rifle" mode was 416 and the reading in r63 or what ever normal is was the same. This is now a little confusing as to the previous post.

We even shot a rock across the river at 1050 with a 8 or so angle, again of the rifle, not on the fusion and the range was dead on.

I did not calculate any slope in the elevation adjustment. This shot worked. I will have to do some more testing to see WTF.

And while I am typing I came 35 yards from one of my goals yesterday. To shoot a mile. I was holding middle of a clay mound about 6 feet in diameter at 1725 yards, with 63.5 MOA up from a 600 yard zero... and wap six inches right of hold. Guess next time I will accont for the 16 km wind coming in at about 1 oclock.

Love that bino even thought it take 3 seconds to range rather than 2...:D
 
I have the fusion 1600 rangefinding bino (10x42)and I think they are fantastic...ranged to within one yard difference when comparing with Leica's for more than twice the price, also will range trees out to just below 1800 yards...like I said before in a different post, I couldn't honestly tell the difference in optic clarity between the leicas and bushnells. Great product ... great price!!!
