I was watching this thread and hoping for some relies, as I am looking at that scope as well. I will mention that I have spent a bit of time behind an Elite 20-60x80mm scope belonging to a friend, and found it quite decent. It is the next step up in the Bushnell line, and costs about twice as much as the Legend model. The Legend is much heavier than the Elite (80oz vs. 53oz), but with a decent tripod I don't see why that would matter for range use. They both have the same eye relief (18mm), and the Legend actually has a slightly wider field of view at all magnifications. The Elite has a much shorter close-focus distance, but again, it wouldn't affect range use. They are both fully multi-coated, both have Rainguard, both nitrogen-filled/ fog-proof, both have the ED glass objective. The biggest difference I can see (on paper) is that the Elite has a removable/interchangeable eyepiece, whereas the Legend eyepiece is fixed in place.
This info is all off the Bushnell specs, and just going by that I can't see spending the extra money for the Elite, but it would be nice if someone with first-hand experience with the Legend could chime in. BTT
Oh, one more thing...the Legend looks like it is available only with the angled eyepiece, no straight one available. I think the angled one is much better for range use, but some people just don't like them. Try before you buy.
