Bushnell....Lifetime Warranty?? lol Buyer Beware!

My experience with Bushnell warranty is that my model was discontinued, so they sent me a far cheaper model as a replacement. An interesting feature of their “lifetime” warranty is that it’s the warranty of the product, not the lifetime of the user. They determine what its lifetime is. It’s not to at much more money for a better scope with better quality and warranty so I learned my lesson twice from them now.

Bushnell warranty not worth the paper its written on. Switched everything to vortex(yes i know no one that spends $$$ on expensive glass never needs warranty) but im hard on my gear and vortex has always taken care of me.
When you say you’re hard on equipment I can relate. Except optics, I tend to try at least, not purposely drop or toss anything with an optic attached. I tend to buy higher-end sub $2000 rifle scopes for example.
So how do you treat your various equipment? Thank in advance.

Well I purchased from Cabelas and they advised me they have a 60 (or perhaps 90 day) return policy. In any case I was outside the time frame. Secondly, I misplaced my receipt so I suspect I'm out of luck. In any case, as I mentioned previously, BUYER BEWARE! It appears the lifetime warranty of any Bushnell product is worthless.

Cabelas is a stickler for receipts.
It’s ridiculous nowadays.
As if they dont know who bought it and where and when.
The data on Basspro in North America on “refunds they weasel out of” must be off the charts.

Sorry dude.

“Lifetime warranty” always means the products design life (expected serviceable life) not your lifetime, the way they make it sound. Same with everything else. If they say it’s only supposed to last so long, that’s the end of the lifetime warranty. Happens to me all the time

Their lifetime warranty, on any of their newer stuff. Since the forges and engages started coming out, is definitely a joke. If you read the fine print with the product, it now states that their lifetime guarantee is guaranteed for the life of the product. Each product line has a different intended life span. So if your scope has only a 5 year lifespan, then the lifetime warranty, only included those 5 years. It is not your lifetime, it is your products lifetime.

Snap-on has the same thing but they don’t advertise “lifetime warranty”. They just do it.

Don't be an idiot. A lifetime warranty should be just that, and you shouldn't have to jump through numerous hoops to obtain it. As for the "exact answers", if you had taken the time to read my post BEFORE YOU shot off your useless reply, you would have noted that I have previously tried all the avenues mentioned by those kind CGN members who actually had something intelligent and worthwhile to add to the discussion. I'm not a fanboy to Bushnell or any other company, I just want what I paid for. If your afraid of "moaning" for something you paid for, then I suspect you may be big, white and fluffy and easily roasted over the campfire.....
Visit another Bushnell dealer and your lifetime warranty will be honoured. Sorry Cabelas didn't treat you right.

Deep breaths, chill, I'm just a random on the internet.

My gear isnt bench rest only, pounding through the bush, mountains, rivers, in a case on atv. Never had problems with the vortex scopes. Had a spotter issue and vortex fixed asap.... just my personal experiences.

Bee 🐝 wary of them hard cases and where the scope sits in’im.
I stuff tennis bawls down my two and an old shirt to prevent the objective end of the scope getting pounded by the case tapered shape.

I never mentioned benchrest anything. When you pound through bush do you mean walk around trees like other humans? On mountains do you walk watching your step so you don’t slip and slide down many feet of shale bits that are like marbles? For rivers I’ll just assume you keep your rifles above water therefore your scopes not submerged.

There are those who like to believe they’re living like in an ad for “super rugged indestructible Special Forces gear” while hunting or fishing and try to make us believe it too.

Man im 46 and clumsy as $ħït. I fall down hills, trip, slip, and flipped a raft in a river.
I put the Special in special forces.
Warranty is warranty. If they say its covered, then cover it. I seem to remember someone that had their vortex binos burned in a house or tent fire and sent them for repairs and vortex just sent them new ones which to me shows a company that goes above and beyond which is rare nowadays.
And my personal experience with bushnell was lousy. My opinion is just my opinion.

I will be adding some cushioning to the case... i like the tennis ball idea

Huh. Did not know this. They gonna "pro-rate" it next?

*All Bushnell® products carry a product lifetime warranty against defects in workmanship or materials. Product lifetime is defined as 30 years for Riflescopes, 20 years for binoculars and spotters, 5 years for electro-optics and electronic components (laser rangefinders, red dot sights, reflex sights, speed gun radars, night vision) and 2 years for trail cams.

Call me lucky but the one time I needed bushnell warrenty they covered me no issues. I admitted I fell down a creek bank in the dark with my rifle on my back. I not only bent the scope tube I bent the cross pins holding it to the base. It was an old no model listed 3-9 that I've had since high-school
The lady kinda laughed and said since the scope was so old and I didn't know the model number they'd send a new scope. I asked if I could get a 1-4x20 and offered to cover the difference but they just sent me an engage 1-4x20 alot nicer glass

A friend of mine backed over his rifle and bent his scope. It was replaced with one phone call.

I've never had a bushnell product break on me that wasnt my fault

I do remember having to call several times as the que line was long

March 2024-

Here is the info I used.

customersupport@bushnell.com

(800) 423-3537
Option 1, Choice 3 for Optics.

they were fairly helpful. I returned a 1-4x LPVO, and they sent me a newer version. Long process, but alright to deal with. I have no idea if that info is still good or not. Based on other posts, maybe not.

I just thought I would give you what I used in case it helps.

Cheers,
Dylan.
