Looking for a light weight spotter to supplement my 85mm Razor. Anyone have opinions on one vs the other? I see the throw lever and Tremor reticle on the 2, but this doesn't really seem like an optic that's 2x as good ($1350 vs $2600). Am I missing something? Would appreciate any insight folks might have.

I think you're comparing sale prices for the LMSS (since it got discontinued) to msrp for the LMSS2... street price for the LMSS was about $1700cad and msrp for the LMSS2 is $1750usd (which works out to about $2100cad).

I have a buddy who's been using the LMSS2 (stateside) for a while and he really likes it (and his frame of reference is the Leupold Mk4). I did a pretty in depth review comparing the LMSS to the Athlon Cronus and the Minox MD60ZR a while back. While I ended up choosing the Athlon, knowing now what I did then, I would've gone with the LMSS. I'd like to get my hands on the LMSS2 and see what (if anything) has been changed other than offering the T4 (I prefer the H322 anyways) reticle and including the single top rail (you have to buy the kit of 3 rails for the original LMSS for $300ish). I have yet to see them available on this side of the border?

I'm in a similar boat as vultr and hope it's okay to bump this. Most my hunting is out of a backpack and I'm a little tired of packing my 85mm Razor around. Looking for a lighter, more compact option. MRad reticle is a requirement. Preferably Mil Hash crosshairs, but Horus would do in a pinch. It'll be mostly range & competition use, but will be taken sheep & elk hunting. I'm not finding many options out there that aren't 85mm tanks...

vultr, did you end up with one of the Bushy ET models? Have either of you guys had the opportunity to try the LMSS2? Thoughts vs. the original or the Razor Gen1 with the W/A 30x? Other than the Bushy Legend Tac and Leupold- any other compact, lighter options of note? Looks like the Athlon is discontinued.

That’s what I was afraid of. Thanks for sharing your experience. Appreciate it very much!

I’ve been combing the Innanets, looking for lighter, 50/60mm spotters. But there just isn’t anything that’s exactly what I’d like. The closest is the LMSS, but it sounds optically disappointing. I wonder if the Gen2, with ED glass, shows a significant improvement. Like you, I’ve owned/own several Elite Tactical scopes, and have been very happy with most of them. The DMRIIs I owned were a let down, but the DMRII Pro I have on my competition rifle now is excellent. The ED glass was a big upgrade in that particular scope.
