On clearance in certain stores - it seems like if there's stock, it's 750 from Ontario eastward, and about 1050 in BC

I bet 750 is close or below cost

+ the mail in rebate that started today makes it an incredible deal if it's a decent scope!

I picked one up today, and the next nearest one I could find is in Ruyn QC, and some in Vernon BC so I figured I'd pass along the deal!

So the question is,

for 550 after the mail in rebate, is it a good scope? Deal of a lifetime? I know they are discontinued but....

The LRHS 3-12x44 is a very nice scope. The glass is super sharp and bright. If you can get one for $750 and then get another $200 mail in rebate back as well it is a fantastic deal.

Yup. Great glass with accurate, durable mechs. Super scopes, that usually go for ~$1500. I'd be happy to find another for $1000.

Thanks for the heads up REKX !

My local CT had one as a display model for $750. I wanted to try a FFP scope and with some CT money saved up plus a $200 rebate it was too good to pass up. At first glance the reticle is very fine which should be suitable for the target shooting I'm planning but might not be great for hunting on low magnification. Any recommendations for 30mm rings?

When on low magnification at close range I like to use the Circle of Death in the reticle for aiming, it works good.
I use Burris Signature Zee rings with the inserts. They are a bit pricey but work great and are kind to the scope tube and you also can put in some vertical cant to the scope if you like. Besides you can afford nice rings as you got such a smoking deal on the scope!
Enjoy!

Thanks for the reply kc34. I have heard others recommend those Burris rings as well. Locally available rings appear to be Vortex Viper rings, which now seem to be call Vortex Pro rings. There is only $10 difference between these Burris and Vortex rings.

Can anyone confirm that the $200 rebate applies to this model? Bushnell's website list this model under the Elite hunting series, not the Elite tactical.

Never mind. Originally I had tried calling Bushnell directly but due to heavy call volume they only gave an option to leave a message. Tried the number provided on the rebate form itself and the lady who answered confirmed after looking up the model number that this model is indeed eligible for the $200 rebate .
