I have been looking at the Bushnell yardage pro 4-12x42 scope for sometime now, my local dealer has one in stock and offered me a good deal. I was very close to buying it, but a friend of mine has a co-worker that claims that his exact scope only works for about 15min in the cold before the batteries freeze up. I am told numerous batteries have been tried and the results were all similar and that the rangefinder eventually stopped working when in the cold for some time. i have no idea the temperature at which this was tried, but i do know that this hunting season, i was out and about with the temps dropping below -25c in the mornings.

Does anybody else have a similar story to share? I want the scope, but i dont want to pay a premium price only to have the scope screw up on me when i am counting on it the most. For those about to say "go get yourself a good hand held and be done with it", i do have a very good range finder, it is a Leica crf1000, and it is indespensible for archery hunts, but i find it is not very "handy" in the cold with gloves on and in my pocket, and tend not to use it. Thanks in advance.
