Hello,
I what to buy a bushnell because of the 30% dicount. For my new 220 shotgun. What i choose?
Budget 200@300$

Bushnell has a trophy 1.75-4x32 circle dot and a 3-9x40 200 DOA that can be found even though they are discontinued. I have both of these. Not sure if they qualify for the rebate. There are good deals on Nikon as well if you can find a slughunter. I sent an email to Bushnell about an elite 4500 I found to see if its included in the rebate and waiting to hear back. I prefer the old elites to the new bushnell products.

Most of the newer stuff seems to have gone to more tactical turrets and scopes with high magnification. Fine I guess if your looking for a paper puncher or varmint scope but not ideal for big game. I think the old elites were made in Japan but the new line is all Chinese from what I was told, not 100% sure though. I have some Chinese scopes like the trophys, basically because they had the best reticles for what I wanted them for and they have been fine. But they are under $200. I don't think I'd be paying the asking price of the new top end bushnells. My brother just paid $1200 for a scope made in China and I just shook my head. Hopefully it holds up on his 300win mag.

Elite 3200 were nice, think they are discontinued. The higher end glass (above op budget) is great. The in between, had a few useful items. The 1-4 FFP AR seems handy for the woods. 1x is like a reddot, 4x is plenty for a 20g slug.

I scooped up the last two Elite 3500's from a site sponsor for a song... a 2-7x32 and a 3-9x40. Excellent Japanese-made scopes every bit as good as the Leupold VX-2 line. As the OP said, high magnification and target turrets are great for paper punching and hitting gopher's at long range, but not practical for most big game hunting situations, especially here in the wooded east. If you look hard enough, you might still find an Elite 3500 or 4500 kicking around. Get a new one before they're gone.
