My buddy picked up a Savage Axis .270 with the scope about 5 months ago when he was in Edmonton at Cabela's. Today he took it to the range the first time and went to shoot to find out the scope was fogged up inside. To me it looked like someone with greasy fingers touched the scope after having KFC.

Any idea what the issue is? He said the scope was fine when he bought it and in the AM when he looked through it in the basement.

I told him to call Bushenll or Cabela's and see if they can help.

He should call Cabela's first, but be unsurprised if they say because of how long he's had it that he has to send it to Bushnell himself.

Issue.... he bought a low budget rifle with a #### scope... I am no gun snob so don't read it that way... I think it is cool that the marlin xl7, stevens 200 and savage axxis are available... (note i am a rem fan and exclude the 710)..... but don't expect the scopes to perform.... they are crap and to be honest... the price of scope and rifle together is less than you should spend on scope alone.... JMOP

Just a heads up here: If he is told to go directly to Bushnell he should go in person...the warranty depot is in Markham. A bit of a drive for him, but his problem will probably be solved on the spot, while he waits. If he sends it in by mail, he will wait many moons for a solution.

i had a problem with a B&L 4x12x40 3000 about 12 yrs ago. It had a scratch all along the inside of the tube and if i was looking from the front of the scope through to the eyepiece[ backwards] you would see it plain as day. Bushnell refused to fix it at first and said it was not noticable when shooting. I wrote them back and said if this is how your customer service is you can refund my money now. They sent me a brand new scope and paid for the mounting. Do not take any crap from any manufacturer. You work hard for your money and did not pay for an inferior product, so THEY WILL REPLACE IT NO IF,ANDS, OR BUTS ABOUT IT.

The marlin does not belong in the same sentence as the stevens,or the savage. It belongs in the bin,or for that matter under it.bushnell with issues, can not imagine such a thing!
