Bushnell Scope Problems... Maybe?

I'm waiting for a Zeiss to come back from wheaty. Seems the lenses just decided to unscrew themselves inside the scope. Do they all do that? Zeiss must be junk.......:stirthepot2:

I'll ask this again. For those who "love" their Chinese/Bushnell optics, if you had the choice of any Bushnell or an S&B/Zeiss/Leupold/Nightforce/USOptics/Trijicon which would you pick? If your choice is anything other than Bushnell you're a hypocrite. I'll ask this one as well. If you turn your rifle upside down with that Bushnell and drop it on the ground and I drop my rifle with any of the above mentioned brands, which do you think will suffer damage or loss of zero first?

The first one that hits the floor!!!!!!!!!!!! Whats the prize, what did I win, I hope the prize is shipped free or do I have to pay ??

What and , awww never mind.

Me to, I have about a dozen right now, even some great Banners.

That's just another one of his negative post!! You would have to look along time to find apostive one, if possible. Everyone is getting used to it.

Give your head a shake,I bet you hear a rattle. If your paying attention.

I have owned several bushnell 4200 and never had a single problem. I know many guys who have them and none of them have ever had a single problem.

Sorry to ruin your sunday morn, but not much positive to say about any bushnell.I guess your already are aware of that, if you own such.

Do you really think that your opinion is capable of ruining someones day? Just a tad high on yourself? ;)

If you add him to your ignore list conversations about optics become much clearer...............

Okay mid thread here you said you cranked your zoom and tried your hand at shooting at longer distances, so just how far were you shooting?
If you were sighted in and shooting at 100 yards at 4 power and had no issues and then cranked to 9 power and shot 200 yards I don't think its the scope, it could be the ammo or the gun.......or perhaps gravity and air resistance......

A few more details about what you were doing and what you did might be helpful, either that or were playing a little game........whats in my hand right now??? it be easier to guess if I posted a picture wouldn't it.......

I to own 3200's and 4200's and a few of the older ones, I had issues with one so far, sent it in with the 15 dollars and they replaced it, when you turned the focus ring the cross hairs would walk all over north america, saw this on 2 different scopes afterwards, the less moving parts the right is my motto now.......

Still spewing the all Bushnell scopes are Chinese crap I see. Your credibility goes down with me every time you propagate something you know is not true.

The "top" line of Bushnell products are made in Japan. For the coin they're asking I wouldn't hesitate to run a better more reputable brand. Seeing as how the majority of Bushnell users aren't running the top end(which is new I might add) I guess my experienced opinion with Bushnell still stands. If you look below, it appears the OP is less than versed in the workings and issues related to optics. I suspect most who run $100 scopes from Walmart have little knowledge of optics let alone quality optics. My experience with others has confirmed my suspicions more times than not. I will break it down for others who can't follow my thought process here. I ask unknown firearms owners(some would call them "shooters") three questions before I even begin to discuss a topic of debate. If they can't answer all three, they clearly don't know enough to have a conversation with. Sure, this sounds elitist, but I really don't have the time to explain the basics to someone prior to cutting them and their misinformed opinions down with logic and science. So here are the questions which are the primers for a discussion on optics. The three primers change depending on topic.

What is parallax?

What is an MOA and a MIL?

What are target turrets?

When they can answer all three of these without hesitation, then the conversation can continue with some more questions. These are related questions to the original topic, some are just plain firearms knowledge.

Explain trigger reset

Explain/demonstrate proper trigger finger placement

What is the difference between a single and two stage trigger?

What is exit pupil?

What is eye relief?

What is scope cant?

What's the difference between coated and fully coated optics?

I consider these basics when discussing optics. No offense to those who can't answer the above, but its tough to discuss an issue or topic if both sides are dissimilarly informed. I don't pretend to know it all about optics, or any topic for that matter. However, I try to educate myself on topics that interest me or directly impact my gear and/or my performance. Seeing as how this is a public forum, I generally don't ask the primers prior to discussing the topic at hand.

TDC

Maybe I should mention guys, that its not a new scope by any means. I've had it for years. 4x - 5x is all I need for deer hunting. Just this past season i tried to reach out to further distances (at the range) and thats when I discovered the issue. And what exactly is parallax?
