Bushnell scopechief 3x-9x with post command

Hi,
Got this scope recently and I try to figure how it works. On the side cap it has that small red lever under the touret et Im not sure how it works. The post command is very blur. Anyone knows how to make the adjustements ?

There is the original one here that dad bought for his Schultz I'm guessing in the sixtie?
I've sent it in to Bushnell for repair twice.
That red lever is to flip the command post up or down.
If it doesn't work, Bushnell as told to me they don't have parts for these anymore.
The last time they wished to replace it. Dad has moved on over to the other side
and I wanted to keep this scope.
They sent me a new scope and the old one too.
Said to keep the old scope for sentimental valules and be sure it doesn't show up at their
doorstep again.
One of the reasons I enjoy the Bushnell brand.

1) Loosen the lock ring on the ocular lens bell housing, the one closest to your eye.

2) Look through the scope at a clear sky or plain wall, so that all you see is the reticule, with no other image in view.

3) Turn the ocular lens housing until the reticule is in focus.

4) This is the most important part. After not looking through the scope for about 15-20 seconds, look at the sky or wall again. If the reticule is clear and sharp the moment you see it, the scope is focused. If not, you will need to adjust the ocular lens a bit by turning it in or out.

5) Repeat step 4 until you have the best immediate focus of the reticule.

6) Tighten the lock ring on the ocular bell housing, and you are ready to go!

Thanks sir, Im gonna do that.
another thing, the red lever does nothing, I move it left and right and the post still stay in place. Thought that red lever (located under the side tourret) is to remove the post..

It is and that's what happened to the one here.
The post lays like a dead duck at the bottom all blury.
Power up a bit and it seems to disappear.
After Ted posted his reply I gave meself a swat up the back of my head.
Seems we are both somewhat right with your problem.
Looking at the windage dial, the red lever swings from 9'o'clock to 3'o'clock and back?
Been a while since I've played with mine............
