Over 6 months later and over $400 repair bill and had to be re-sent back to me twice. I will no longer ever own another B.S. product again. As for sending it to the states will just cause you more headaches as it will be sent back north to there crappy Onatrio office were they never answer there e-mails or telephone calls. I have had so many issues with this crappy brand that I personaly try to avoid them like the plague!

I'm going to be sending back some compact binoculars that don't focus properly. We'll see how that goes.

Not what I wanted to hear. I sent my Elite 3200 in to ontario 3 weeks ago and I haven't heard anything yet.

Guys

Bushnell pretty much has the same warranty for a $29.00 piece as they do for a $599.00 piece. Consequently they have 1000's more pieces to work on, relative to someone like Lueppy, or Zeiss, or Burris.

Hoping to get a fast turn around from Bushnell, akin to leaving the porch light on for Jimmy Hoffa. FS

Well then they should hire more people in the warranty department.

You must work for Bushnell FS as you seem to have used every excuse under the sun as to why they have sh1t turnaround times.

Bushnell does make some decent scopes but heaven forbid something goes South on you. For that reason I only buy Vortex and the odd Leupold. Ive used the warranty on both Vortex and Leupold and couldnt be happier with customer service and turn around time.

Cheers!!

These are not excuses, merely facts. I did at one time work for bushnell. You make it sound like there are people all over the place that can do repair work to optical gear?

i haven't had ANY bushnell piece "worked on"- they just replace it out of hand - which is probably what would happen if you sent something in- the last time they replaced a 29.95 scope with an 89.95 one, saying the 29.95 was no longer available-

good glass men are as rare as hens' teeth- esp in north america- it used to be a master/apprentice set up here, with the apprentice going to wetzlar upon graduating- some spent as many as 5-10 YEARS grinding lenses alone- that's why lenses USED to cost so much- there's a far greater profit margin in camera lenses and eyeglases than there is in rifle scopes

They serve a large market with a wide range of products some of which are very low priced. How many more people should they hire in the warranty department, and how much more are you willing to pay for a 3-9x40 Trophy to fund all the extra staff?

I sent in a pair of binoculars that I had bought secondhand. They would have had a lifetime warranty when they were sold new, but I never said I was the original owner nor did I mention warranty, just asked that they look at them and give me an estimate if they could be fixed. I heard nothing for a couple of months, then the binoculars showed up - fixed, free of charge. It's not perfect, but mostly Bushnell products and service work as well as they should for the price. If it isn't good enough for you, save or earn more and buy better, there's enough choices out there.

I haven't used Bushnell optics in years because it wasn't good enough for me... I don't think that after spending decent money on a scope that it should take 8 months or more to get it back after warranty issues. I saw this more than a handful of times...

Oh, and I fixed your quote for you ;) :)

there's much better choices out there.

:D

GUYS GUYS GUYS I know that Bushnell service is poor at best so back to my origional question____has anyone sent a scope to the depot in the States for repair and what happened????????????

Yes, there are much better choices out there - Swarovski, Kahles, Zeiss, etc. - and some worse, too. Hence, "there's enough choice out there." I don't use much Bushnell gear either, but what I do have has been good enough for what it costs.

Last year I sent in an Elite 3200 variable to the CDN depot. Although I had bought the scope as "used", which I told them, it was a very recent model and in like new condition without a mark on it.

Sent it in early August.

Sent them an email in late August, to see if they received and how long. Replied yes, but extremely busy time of year, could be about 6 to 8 weeks. Shortly after, in early September, I got their receipt notification card in mail, with tracking #.

On the down side, sent them another friendly email reminder/inquiry in December.

On the plus side: They apologized for delay, and said they'd get right on it. The scope showed up in the mail shortly thereafter.

It had been repaired (erector came loose), reset to zero, and spotlessly cleaned.

All covered by warranty.

On their website they mention a $10 handling fee, which showed up on the packing slip, which I sent them a cheque for, which they never deposited.

I'm a happy enough camper with that.

As for their Elite series scopes, probably some of the most underrated optics out there. Excellent quality, IMHO. Recommend to anyone.

Busnell Canada is owned by Bushnell Outdoor Products (USA). The staffing levels for warranty are a direct decision of the US parent company and they are not approving more people to be hired even when existing warranty staff leave. Bushnell Outdoor Products is trying to keep their costs down in an effort to keep the retail price as low as possible against their competitors. This results in longer wait times for warranty work for Bushnell than Leupold Canada (Korth Group a privately owned company). Sales, in the end will be the determining factor if this pricing/warranty model works out or not. Most Bushnell warranty work is on their lower end products with very little (in our experience) problems with their higher end lines like the Elite series. Phil.
