Anyone on here use one of these on a centerfire? I noticed that they have a lifetime warranty through Canadian Tire (replacement). And since C-Tire is usually very good about honouring such warranties (at least with me), I thought maybe I'd put one on my .308.

Unless, of course, they suck. Right now the rifle is sporting an older Tasco Pronghorn that was on it when I bought it.

I like mine

I've had one for about a year now and am very pleased with the purchase! The picture is perfectly clear no matter the distance and the zoom does what its supposed to. I have mine on a .22wmr Savage MKII GL so I dunno how it'll handle the recoil of a .308... C-tire will let you return pretty much anything as long as you still have the receipt so I'd say its worth a try.

The Bushnell Sportview is the lowest quality scope they make are are not even shown in their pricing sheet as they are usually used in cheap rifle/scope combos from gun makers or sold direct to box stores like Can Tire and Wallmart. The next level in their line is the Sportsman and this line has now been discontinued. The lowest level Bushnell is the Banner which is not a bad scope but still considered entry level. You get what you pay for. Phil

I would not go near one. How many times do you want to remove it and sight in again? Sure you can keep getting replacements for a while, but junk is still junk.

Maybe they make them better now, but I have had brand new scopes that rattled glass after one shot of 30-06. Every shot you get past #1 will be a bonus if you want to try it?

The Tasco you have is no gem, but if it's still functioning, it's probably as good or better than the Sportview. Older Banners (Japan) have held up well for many, and the Bushnell Legend, though no longer in production I understand, is quite nice for an economy scope. The Tasco World Class, though also "low end" in comparison to more costly glass, continues to do the job for many hunters, especially if you can find one from the days when they came from Japan.

not sure about the quality of the newer sportsveiw scopes, but i have a 25 year old one in 4x38 on my 30-06 and it still functions like new and is clearer than some of the banner scopes i have looked thru.i also have a 4x32 which was on my first centerfire rilfe.it spent3 years on my 303 and got delegated to my 22 when i got my 30-06 so that would make it about 28-29 years old.
