Is there a bushnell tactical excursion spotter equivalent?
Something with a mil dot reticle.
ability to see mirage and trace
under 2000$? hopefully 1000$give or take

I've read find a Gold Ring HD and send it back to Leopold for a TMR leans.
any issues with that in canada?

currently I don't need the mil dot I just don't want to have to upgrade a spotting scope when me and my partner start shooting longer random distances.

Hmmm. At a thousand bucks?

See I know vortex makes both MOA and milrad eyepieces for their razor spotters. But you're looking more like $1800-2100 there depending on whether you pick 65mm or 85mm

Its a shame Bushnell discontinued that spotter, best bang for the buck for sure.

Not many options out there currently. The USO is in that price range and while being very well built, by most accounts it really sucks to use due to the extremely long eye relief. The Vortex Razor HD is nice but the reticle eye piece is a fixed 30x. Bushnells new LMSS or whatever its called is nice but not $1700 nice. I dont think anyone has the reticle versions in stock as they are still filling their military orders.

That pretty much leaves Leupold for reasonably priced spotters with a reticle (Mark 4). Or as you suggest get a standard model and send it in to have a reticle installed. Guys in the States have been doing this but then again they are dealing directly with Leupold, not Korth which may not have the capability to do this modification.

"This eyepiece is specifically designed for use with the 85 mm Razor HD spotting scopes— it is not compatible with the 65 mm or 50 mm Razor HD models."
from the US vortex site
$2640 msrp for lens and scope

sent an email to korth about a reticle swap.

I inquired about the same thing last summer/fall and was advised that Korth is not tooled up to do the reticle install, after which I called Leupold in Oregon where they told me that they could do it for $500. All things considered it's not too bad an option when considering the alternatives. Glass in the Leopold is decent, it is not a huge spotter and you have a choice of reticles.

There are a few other alternatives(besides the ones already mentioned) but they won't keep you in that price range but here is some food for thought:

Optolyth S80 HD - 20-60 variable x eyepiece. You can get it with a fixed 30x mil reticle eyepiece. $2500ish
Zeiss Diascope 65T - 20-60 variable x eyepiece. 30x eyepiece is available but very difficult to find. $3000ish
Hensoldt Spotter 45 or 60 - 15-45x or 20-60x built in reticle FFP, full MIL spec. By most accounts literally the best there is(I can update you later on that) $5000ish

Good luck with your search.
