Just curious, as I am purchasing my first scope tomorrow. Do scopes come with ring mounts or do I need to purchase those separately. I will be starting off with a low end scope (Trophy 3-9 40mm) for now until I learn to use them properly before going with higher end optics. No advertisement notes wether or not the rings are included or not though

Thanks

Skip the junk and go directly to good quality optics. There is no learning curve with a scope so you can start out with the best optics your budget can handle.

And no a good scope usually does not include the rings/bases.

it's hard to say some lower end ones do some don't. there is NOTHING WRONG with bushnell. if you can afford better go for it, if you can't bushnell is an inexpensive option not a "cheap" option. I've heard good things about Vortex as well. good luck, i'm sure you'll be happy with a bushnell.

Bushnell Trophy

The Trophy is a great scope for the money.

You need to buy rings and bases seperate. They will always vary depending on the rifle your mounting the scope on and the rings or bases used.

+1 on the Trophy is a great scope for the money.

The only comment I can add is that the only drawback of the Trophy is that it has a "short tube" so if you are mounting it, for example, on a Rem 700 long action with Weaver bases then you will need an extension base on the front or extension rings to get it to mount properly & still have the right eye relief. Otherwise, the Trophy will serve you well. I've had good success with the basic matte finish 3-9x40mm.

NAA.

Go to your local optics/gun store and they should be able to help with rings and bases and mounting if you are unable to do it. The new Bushnell Trophy XLT are good scopes for the money and carry lifetime warranty. If you can afford a little more $ then it is money well spent to go the Elite series. Phil.
