Hi guys,

Just bought a new Bushnell Trophy XLT in a 4-12 x 40. Mounted it onto my Savage Edge 22-250 and went to sight it in. Anyways after lots of adjusting it I found something completely odd. The windage adjustment turret is backwards left is right and vice versa. After figuring this out I finally got it dialed in.

Has anybody experienced this before from Bushnell or for that fact any other brand???

I believe that I can make do I guess but would like it to be right. I will call Customer service but would like to know if it has been heard of and how often.

Also can you damage the turrets by turning them too far or do they just stop when they are out of adjustment?? I adjusted the windage lots until I figured it out :-(

Thanks

Paul:)

You are saying that if you turn the dial counterclockwise your point of impact moves to the right on the target? This is normal for most optics. If you turn it clockwise and POI moves right than it is backwards. There are some manufacturers that make them this way but I don't know if Bushnell offers any.

As far as adjusting your windage to the stops it should not hurt it. Some guys do this to exercise the scope before they mount it. I don't but to each their own I guess.

Bushnell offers cheap optics and the Trophy series is near the bottom. The recoil of your 22-250 shouldn't be too bad, but don't expect the optic to last long. As for your troubles, You get what you pay for.

I did not want to mention it but my legend only lasted a couple hundred rounds on a Tikka T3 lite 22-250. I think it has something to do with it being a really sharp recoil. I no longer buy Bushnell products after numerous bad experiences.

You need to buy two Bushnells if you are going to use them .So you can have one on the rifle and the other out for repair .Then you can just keep switching them out .

Interesting. I had trophies mounted on various .300 and .338 magnums before and none ever gave me any problems even after thousands of rounds. This is good to know, I just wish I knew it then so I could have been miserable with my scopes.

That's funny stuff pharaoh2, I've also got a few Bushnell scopes and binos and been problem free. Cayden, I believe that Bushnell has a one year warranty or exchange policy. I don't think you'll have a problem with them standing behind your purchase.

peace...

Thanks for the replies guys. I was on a tight budget for a cheap rifle. lol. I was hoping for a bit better quality when I purchased it. I do however have all Bushnell scopes on all my rifles and so far the XLT is the only one to give me a problem like this. From my rimfire to my Elite 3200 I have had not a single problem until now.

Thanks
